This is becoming one of my favorite places to go.The food is great! Just came for dinner and had a wonderful sandwich. It was hard to decide to have wings (it was wing night) or the sandwich. I'm glad I chose the sandwich. I've eaten here many times and every meal has been great. If you like onion rings, you have to try them here!The service is amazing. I have had many different servers. Last night and tonight, it was Rebecca, and she is amazing.The atmosphere is very relaxed and everyone is very down to earth. If you are looking for a great local bar, you have to give The Lion Pub a definite try!
We found this pub on a Sunday drive and both agreed it's more than good enough to bring us back to Newmarket again. Hubby had the chicken pesto sandwich with fries and declared it delicious. I had the avocado-mixed green salad. O!M!G! Sooo good!If you go when Rebecca is waiting tables, you'll be lucky enough to meet one of the most personable waitresses you will ever, ever meet!Treat yourself to a visit there soon!
Oct 2023. I think this is under new management.Tried to order fries and curry. Ownership said okay but it’s going to be based on whatever the curry dish is they have on the menu and that will be $17.I said that’s insulting so ordered poutine instead. Frozen fries and they mixed some shredded cheddar in there with the cheese curds.Server was nice but won’t be coming back here.
Wanted to grab a quick dinner. We had 2 soups, 1 order of fries side of gravy, 1 coffee and 1 Pepsi. Our bill was $40!!Prices are too high for what you get.Yes, the soup was pretty good. Have had better, and yes, it was a rather large bowl, but really? $8 for a bowl of soup?? Should be $5.

The service was great. Rebecca the server was awesome. Sang a few songs during karaoke. The crowd was fun and welcoming. Great Sunday!
Traditional pub food prepared well. The daily specials are really special at an affordable price .
Great bartenders, patrons, several tv's, and two dartboards to play on. My favourite bar.
Fix your hours you were closed multiple times now before 10pm when it says 2am
