The Lloyd House Pub

Food was really poor. Dry, lacked flavour. Beef souvlaki didn’t resemble anything I’ve ever had before. The penne special came to the table and it was macaroni and hamburger quite dry and bland. The chicken club was the same. Dry, flavorless. Wings seemed ok and fish and chips were passable. The spinach dip appetizer was the only thing that was good. The service wasn’t great either. We had to flag our server down for everything no checking in with the table ever. Disappointing. Update: regarding your response below, we did comment on the food issues with the server and when we tried to flag down another server her response was ‘you’ll have to wait for your server’.

Located in a charming Lilienhaus in Mt Albert, this restaurant exudes a local vibe. Upon entering the classic black and white tiled foyer, I knew we were in for a pub-like experience. We ordered a variety of dishes including a chicken BLT, fish and chips, loaded nachos, and burgers. Everything was fantastic, but the standout was definitely the delicious fish and chips. The prices were fair and reflected the quality of the food. I would give this restaurant a perfect 10/10 rating and highly recommend it. Special recognition goes to our server who handled everything solo but still provided excellent service.

Found this pub online as we were travelling through town. Glad we did! Good pub food, wings were awesome. Portion sizes were more then fair. When the bill came my wife and I were shocked. Family of 4 under $70! The locals are getting a steal at those prices! The owner also came over to say hi and chat with us which was very nice. Great to see an owner involved and working hard on a Friday night. Excellent service all around. We’ve noted this spot for then next time we’re thru town. We’ll be back. Cheers.

We celebrated my Mother's 85th birthday this past Sunday at Lloyd's. I can't not say enough about this excellent pub. Doug, owner, was overly helpful in making the booking. We were given the entire upstairs and Tina was our host. The event was a huge success due to the excellent care, service and professionalism of Tina. Five Star all around! I highly recommend Lloyd's if you looking for a place to have a small gathering. Great setting ...excellent food ... and amazing staff. Thank you Doug and Tina!

This restaurant is wonderful - from the atmosphere to the staff to the delicious food. I always have a fantastic time when I visit. The service is top-notch and I highly recommend dining in for dinner. The price range per person is CA$20–30.
