The Local - Reservar una mesa

After a futile fishing expedition at the Port Pier a short walk brought us to the pub called The Local ! Right on the beginning of Bay Street, we were relieved of the January summer heat with cold beers and crispy pub meals. Fried calamari, Onion rings and Potato widgets were contrasting combinations for ice cold White Rabbit, Furphy and Carlton. And the mains was really sumptous. Mixed grill and Beef Scotch Steak were yummy ! A New Year lunch never to forget !

This place has everything you need. The outdoor lane is a great addition. The 50% of food and drinks between 5 pm and 6 pm is hugely popular. The service was excellent with friendly staff. Familiar favorites were on the menu and the service was like clock work. Everyone at this pub were having a great time. Thanks to The Local for looking after Port Melbourne diners.

Dropped in here with a mate for a chicken parma for dinner. Pretty good. Large in size. The only down side to a large Parma is the edges are quite thin and dry out. Nice and juicy in the centre though. Good chips. Check out my photo. If you love a parma, give this place a go and support local business in Port Melbourne

Called in here for a quick drink on our way back to our cruise ship. Cold wine and beer, friendly service. Would come again as the meals looked delicious.

Staff were very welcoming great customer service and very attentive Food at a great standard Fantastic atmosphere to enjoy a meal in with friends and fam.
