I went to the Local Shack for a meeting regarding a potential job opportunity on a Thursday afternoon. The General manager must have thought he was included in this meeting, and more than once abruptly interrupted us to see how my long black was. The venue should consider changing the Long Blacks name to 'Nescafé blend weak sauce' (dirt + mildly warm water). I did not consent to the dog bowl size mug which I was given. Anyway didn't get the job. Blaming the overall ambience of the Shack. And the other party fronted the bill so not all bad (that's where I placed my 1 star). Please note didn't try the food. Ordered UberEATS it took an hour and a half to arrive. One of the staff members called to let me know she had given the uber driver the wrong meal and ours would be late which was fine by us. The problem was when the meal finally arrived it was bone cold! When I called to express my concerns the lady said to me "oh yeh I knew it would be cold", so why send it I asked? When I left my review on the FB page I got an extremely unprofessional response from the management. Rubbish food, rubbish staff, rubbish attitude. Would not order from then again nor would I recommend it.
I have been here a few times and the first couple had great experiences. Loved the breakfast menu especially the smashed avocado was delicious and very good fresh juices. Only issue the last time I visited my vegetarian sister ordered poached eggs with no ham and was served a meal with extra ham and no poached eggs. The waitress seemed extremely unexperienced and refused to accept that she had made a mistake and would not take the ham away. Was very disappointed with her attitude and the whole experience. It is averaged priced as well, not super cheap or expensive.
Another Scarborough location that has recently had a makeover. The food is basic but tasty - its not pretending to be fancy and has a nice relaxed feel. The staff were really friendly and the coffee is good - did I mention $8 pints of Tiger??? We had the big Kahuna breakfast, sliders, Shack burger and pancakes for desert all tasted good and was well priced especially compared to the other restaurants in the area. Reserva una mesa ahora
Waited an hour for cold nachos, some kind of parmi that was most likely microwaved with a bit of ham (if you can even call it that, the dog wouldn't even eat it). Also had the squid/avocado salad which was ridiculous, squid was slimy, rocket was limp, the salad was hotter then nachos?! Let's just say they don't put connect four on the tables for fun, it's to distract you from **** food.
Went here for lunch last Tuesday with a group of approx 8 of us. Waitress seemed flustered and inexperienced. She forgot to add two of our meals to the order so we had I wait at least an extra 30min. Barely an apology from staff, the manager rudely explained they don't split bills and didn't bother addressing the situation. Food was ok but overpriced.
