The restaurant at this hotel fell short of expectations given its price and 4-star rating. While the location was great and the room size was good (including a gymnasium suite with sauna), there were some drawbacks. The service was friendly, but there were many strange rules and additional charges. The restaurant did not live up to the high-class pictures on the website, and prices were inflated (e.g. £2.50 for a glass of soda water). The room felt slightly disheveled, with stains on the bathroom curtain, a floating bedside table that had come off the wall, and a broken board on the outside decking. My only complaint was I was only staying one night ! We were in the family suite , the rooms were spacious, warm and clean. The shower was powerful , always a bonus . The bar area was very cleverly sectioned to provide a feeling of intimacy although you were in a shared room . The hosts were friendly and informative and I enjoyed 3 or 4 drams off the excellent single malt gantry with some impressive guidance from the owner . Brilliant stayed in suit last night I think I left shorts in the sauna room but overall was lovely very friendly owner our breakfast was lovely fresh fruit granola and yogurt!! What an amazing location! Beautiful view of the loch from our balcony. Rooms were clean and big. Loved having use of the hot tub on our balcony. Good food and service. I arrived late and the managers went above and beyond to take care of my needs. The hotel is situated in a beautiful spot in the Highlands. The rooms, service, and location all receive a perfect score of 5. A highlight of the hotel is the great view.
