I am just emailing to say unfortunately how disappointed we were with our experience yesterday for Sunday lunch. Myself and my husband have been twice before and both times have raved about the food and spread the word and told friends and family they should...definitely visit. We were also have followed on Instagram for a while and were planning on joining the dog and donuts walk soon. Since moving to the area a year ago we have found it hard to find somewhere that does a good roast dinner (especially as I am vegetarian). I’d give this pub 0 stars if possible We were in town for a quick bite to eat and the pub was happy to accommodate saying the table was booked for and we had an hour and a half. We quickly ordered drinks and...ordered our food. We were shocked to then wait for the first of four starters. The next starter arrived minutes later, the third starter arrived another later and now we were waiting on last two starters knowing we had to eat them!!!! The food was bland and so expensive to what could be considered as a kids menu. Booked a table at for myself and my children hours before visiting the Christmas lights at Waddesden. When we arrived the pub was not busy, however it took an hour for our food to arrive. There were no updates or explanations for...this and during this time I saw no other meals being brought out, so I have no idea why it took so long to cook cheeseburgers and a chicken burger, but we were all utterly fed up having to wait that long. We were asked if we wanted desserts, which we had planned for and allowed time for, but did not have time for in the end. We visited a few days ago and had excellent food, the staff are so friendly and polite. They were very busy that day with lots of tables and families to serve, and this did reflect waiting but it was good to see it so busy...and the restaurant doing well. The food is absolutely worth the extra few minutes wait. Great to also see a non alcoholic larger on tap. We witnessed some negativity amongst other customers which was unwarranted as the staff were Very busy and doing there best

Visited recently as we were in the area and wanted somewhere nice for lunch. Menu looked nice, however the food was very overpriced for what was served up. Fish and chips were pretty bad absolutely no flavour at all. I don’t think any seasoning...was used and even the chips were disappointing. It all tasted of nothing, except the ‘mushy peas’ which was a scraping of very sweet puréed peas.
Called in here for lunch before attending the Waddesdon Christmas Winter Light event. Staff were friendly and we had a very relaxed and cosy time, sat by the open log fire. Service was prompt, food was good and portion sizes more than ample. Really...glad we came here as we found catering facilities at the Waddesdon event rather limited.
I was excited to try their Sunday Roast. The staff was very friendly. However, I was left disappointed. I ordered the pork and my wife ordered the roast beef, but both of our meals were served cold and lacking vegetables. The meat was also dry. When I requested gravy, it was very watery.
A fully booked, friendly Gastropub, all six of our meals came together, delicious roasts, cheeseburgers with great chips, clean plates all round. Well done to the chef and staff.

Stay away from this pub,the owner landlord called Al,threatened to stab me with a knife and then kick my head in, this matter is now in hands of the police
