"Great beer, food. Very attentive service. Great location, not far from the Rocks, far enough not to see the crowd."

The beer is over rated by many locals. It attempts a British style but is way off the pace. None of the beers have much depth to them and one feels they are just trading on former reputation. The food menu is reasonable. I chose the beef pie with mash and mushy peas. The quality was passable rather than delicious or outstanding.Ambience is good and the building has character. A disappointment neither the food nor beer follows suit.

Old style pub venue with great bar food at reasonable prices. We ate in the downstairs area where there is a great choice and board specials on the menu . The meals downstairs are very reasonably priced. We did not use Restaurant upstairs so this is purely about bar menu. Cosy with fire going in winter. Thoroughly recommend.

The Lord Nelson Brewery was a fun place to stop for locally brewed Australian beer. It also felt like a lot of locals hung out here, which gave it a nice vibe.
