New owners as of November. The previous owner was a chef and you can certainly feel his absence. But the food is ok still and they still do a very hearty roast. There's a couple of share worthy starters like a mackerel pate, chicken liver pate and something with crudités. Make sure you specify if you want these out first. Then there's things like burgers, and depending on the day/weather, shanks or other hearty pub foods. There are some healthier looking bits and pieces but I haven't gone there because: pub. Very much a locals pub, filled with locals. The front bar is lovely and cosy, the back restaurant suits bigger groups in for Sunday lunch. The back is a big lovely beer garden perfect fo...

We stumbled upon this place while walking in the area and it was a very nice surprise. The Lord Tredegar seems really small from the outside but actually has several rooms a restaurant area, a conservatory and a beer garden! Very near Mile End but hidden from the busy area, this place is lovely for an evening with friends. The music is not too loud, and anyway you can choose it since there is a jukebox (I love jukeboxes! . They have some pretty good lagers and ales. I thought the one with the dragonfly on it (I can't remember the name was nice. Price is very reasonnableThe staff was friendly enough and even though we didn't try it the food looked really good and they have options to accomoda...

Hidden away only a few streets north of Mile End tube station, The Lord Tredegar really is one to stop in on at any time of the week! Walking in the front door, you're instantly met by an olde world bar flanked by a very traditional setting of bar stools and a fireplace. For me personally, the bar was fantastic! Stocked with all my favourite beers and spirits, and even carrying Leffe and Staropramn on tap! Out behind the bar, you'll find a small yet warm restaurant area leading to a beautifully set conservatory and modern garden area! I've eaten here now several times and have yet to be able to fault any of the food... From the burgers to the belly pork, this place is one of the best informa...

If you ever wanted to know where the Queen Mary faculty goes for drinks after lectures this is it. There's a very high chance of meeting a few drunk professors there so if you're a Queen Mary student you may want to keep that in mind. The pub itself is hidden away from the main road near Mile End and it does not look like much from the outside. However, inside its hiding 3 good sized rooms and a garden area so it's ideal for big groups. The staff is friendly and there's a good selection of drinks. The kitchen is exposed at the back room so you can see while your food is prepared. However I did not have anything this time so I can not tell if it's good. I don't think it's a venue you need to...

This hidden gem is one of the East End's best kept secrets. Sandwiched between quiet residential streets, The Lord Tredegar offers you a genuine, no-fuss enjoyable drinking experience. The interior is cosy and warm with lots of brass and wood and comfy seats, a proper pub. A wide range of lagers and ales are available at pretty reasonable prices. The landlord, whose name I forget now, seems like he belongs behind the bar. Really friendly and chatty with a stream of cheesy jokes, he actively seeks to engage with his clientele, not in a trying to fleece you manner but out of a genuine interest. The Tredegar provides outdoor seating and Sky TV, it's the perfect place to watch a football or rugb...

BEAUTIFUL. lovely little pub hidden away on the back streets of Mile End, I was luck enough to be introduced to this charming little pub. Drinks are cheap-ish (Watch out for the card minimum spend) and though I only treated myself to a plate of oven-baked chips, they were absolutely delicious, and the rest of the menu looked relatively decent prices, especially for London. There's a really nice area out the back for all you smokers. Can get a little busy, and the pubs relatively small- lets call it cosy- so i'd reserve if you're eating, or turn up early if you want a table but its really lovely out back if you can handle the cold TIP-The blankets? The strange wicker bin in the corner? They'r...

Oh, sweet memories are coming back. We used to come to this pub for a soup, meal or just a drink when wandering around Mile End neighbourhood. Nice English vibe, definitely want to come back when in London.
