My absolute favorite place in town for pizza. The Ala Baldini is my order 99.9% of the time. It has the perfect combination of toppings, a flavorful sauce and a crispy, thin crust. I can't speak to anything else on the many because I've only tried a handful of things in my 100+ visits. Good selection of beer on draft and a wide range of drink options. Same day reservations are recommended for dinner. I recommend sitting downstairs if you can as the vibe is better than upstairs. This place has been around for 80 years and is definitely worth a visit.
When a place has been around for 89 years, it can either become stale or it can prove that it totally understands the assignment. The Lucca Grill is a downtown pizzeria that has not only spectacular, cracker-crust pizza straight out of 1956, but also an incredible assortment of pastas, etc. Everyone working there seemed to enjoy themselves and one another, but were also friendly and rightfully proud of what they're doing. Do yourself a favor and try the Salsicci Pasta with a zesty red sauce--that alone was worth the trip!
