Disclaimer: The 2-star rating is for service reliability, not for their food. I would give them 1 star if it wasn't for the food. Pro: Nutritional Food, tastes good, saves time, ordering online is easy. Details: Despite being upset right now, I've tasted some of my daughter's leftover lunch meals, and do agree with the other reviewers that the food is good. I could tell that they used fresh ingredients and I really like the idea that it saved me time. I work full time so having this service really gave me a sense of relief and they make it super easy to order weeks in advance. Con: Some lunch meals are not easy for preschoolers to eat. But MOST IMPORTANTLY, they are NOT reliable. Details: My daughter loves to eat chicken, so I've ordered chicken fried rice and chicken chow mein. When she brought home the leftover, I saw huge pieces of chicken. My little 2-year-old couldn't even attempt eating the pieces because they were so big. Although the ingredients in the meal were fresh, I don't think some of the meals were prepared with a child in mind. Yes, this is an easy fix so on days that I knew my daughter would have these as her meal, I would ask the teachers to cut the chicken pieces for her. But the biggest con and the real reason for this 2-star review is for their reliability. I got a phone call today from my daughter's school saying that she doesn't have lunch. Mind you, I was in the middle of a meeting at work when I got this call. I quickly went onto The Lunch Mob's website to double check I ordered a meal for her. And sure enough, I did. Maybe The Lunch Mob accidentally left my daughter's lunch in the delivery car and just drove to the next school and will return? Maybe, my daughter's lunch is getting dropped off a little later today? Maybe The Lunch Mob will realize the mistake and come back to my daughter's school in time for her lunchtime to give her the meal? I figured it's safer for my daughter to get 2 lunches than none. So, I frantically figured out a backup. While I make sure my daughter gets a backup meal, I call the school again to see if The Lunch Mob ever showed up with the lunch I ordered 2 weeks ago. No. The Lunch Mob just completely forgot my daughter's lunch, didn't provide a backup solution, and The Lunch Mob told the school that I'll get a refund. WHAT? I'm going to get a refund? Honestly, I don't care about the refund. What about my daughter? What would've happened if I couldn't figure out a backup plan in time for her lunchtime? What would've happened if my daughter's school didn't alert me? I find it completely irresponsible for a children's lunch service to just forget about a child's lunch and not even bother to find a solution. Clearly, The Lunch Mob did not care if my daughter was fed. 2 hours after the time my daughter's lunch was supposed to have been delivered, I get an email saying there was a mishap made by another staff and that I'll get the refund for the food I ordered along with a $10 credit. But to make matters worse, the email was actually intended for another parent. The email was a copy, paste. A generic letter with a mention of the specific school the lunch failed to get delivered. Sadly, the school mentioned was not my child's school. So another poor kid did not get their lunch either today or some other time. Not only did they not care if my child was fed, but The Lunch Mob also didn't care to write me a personalized apology email. I'm sorry, but my trust is gone.
