Came here for breakfast because we'd heard such great things. Maltby Cafe is a cute little cafe in the basement of a building. First off, we were greeted warmly by the hostess at the front, which was followed up by an equally warm and friendly waitress. The food was really good much better than I expected from a small, local diner type place. The waitress said they were known for their eggs benedict, which was what my wife ordered. Because there were so many items on the menu, I asked for a recommendation, and the waitress recommended the Maltby New York Steak omelet. Two stars are generous. where do I start? first my mother is in the wheelchair and when I asked if they were accessible ada, they said no. So we had to take her down the stairs. they come to find that there is one behind. Secondly, we waited for 45 minutes for the server to even talk to us. dirty table and drinks menu was sticky. 3 tables ordered and got her food before we even got water. we made our order final and of course it was wrong. we have ordered French toast and get crepes. asked for 2 additional plates to share and got a dirty broken plate. then we ordered the cookies and gravy. the biscuits were not cooked, nor were the carrots, but the rührei were burnt. maltby’s is about 5 minutes drive from the paradise valley conservation area trail. After we were able to explore the trails for almost two hours, we decided to stop at maltbys and see how big they are. if you have a cinnamon roll, a cinnamon roll, on a plate and there is hardly any white space left, that is probably great! even her breakfast is huge. when they think spinach, mushrooms, grilled tweepers and cheese go well together, the popeye omelet is only for them. it was delicious. a bit expensive for what I would normally spend at the breakfast. for two people at almost $60 (Omelet/Scramble/roll) and this is without drinking money. lol. Our server was awesome, she did a great job in a busy, loud, and crowded environment. Our food was pretty good, they had a large variety on their menu. 3 of us had the Chef salad, one had an omelet with taters. I wish they had more daily soup choices available as they had only one so I opted out. I looked around at many other of the diners meals and it all looks yummy! Down side too is the narrow stairs and tight entryway and dealt with a rude customer. Definitely not ADA friendly. Long line and seating wait time. I was hesitant about this place that it was overestimated and more of a nostalgic place for natives. we are here at 9:00 a.m. and put our name on this list - pleasantly surprised that we were called on the table 5 minutes later! this place is full! the service was initially slow, but we didn't mind – we were happy. our server was great. my icy white chocolate **** was super delicious. on the sweeter side. I have the Swedish pancakes with fruit and cream fraiche, and while so good, also so big. could not even end the half of it. I have no complaints and would come back.

was taken here by my friends who live here and .wow! they can smell the cinnamon rolls from the parking lot. you brot is so soft and heavenly and everything we had was delicious. had the breakfast sandwich and wow it was full of taste. could not even finish it and the staff is so friendly and friendly. look at them when they are in the city!

Food is scrumptious. Drinks are flavorful. Staff was wonderful and helpful. Place was packed elbow to elbow. We had to wait for 10 minutes to be seated. Positive atmosphere. Definitely worth the drive from Arlington! We will be back very soon! Thank you!

You don’t need the munchies to eat at this “joint”. Excellent food ! Great staff, and fair pricing. 5 out of 5 stars every time.
