I was disappointed to find that a previously beloved restaurant of mine was not worth the money when we visited. Although the pub itself is beautiful, their food prices are much higher compared to other nearby competitors, and the management seemed indifferent when questioned about it. To provide context, we paid £4.50 for about 18 chips (including small pieces; even less if only counting whole chips), which amounts to 25p per chip. It is unfortunate to have to give such a negative review for this establishment. I typically do not write negative reviews, as seen in my previous reviews of many other places (even high-end ones). Update: another portion of chips was brought to our table, but it...

We had our Christmas party here (in March thanks to Covid... and overall I think it was great. The food was delicious with the falafel especially good. The staff was great to make sure that all orders were correct and allowed us to order drinks from the bar that was quite fast and had interesting beer and soft drinks. The music was very loud and sometimes intrusive in conversation, so not the right place for a dinner if you want to talk a lot. It was also really dark, which meant that the food was missing a bit of the wow factor in appearance. The dining room on the upper floor was brighter and quieter, so perhaps for private functions to consider. Overall, I would definitely return. Thank y...

My friend and I visited this restaurant late on a Friday night after arriving in London. We wanted to try something authentic while in town, and this place had many great reviews. It was only a 9-minute walk from our hotel and we were seated right away despite the crowded restaurant. The service was a bit slow, but considering how busy it was, it was understandable. I ordered the STEAK, SHIN PALE ALE PIE which came with potatoes and pancakes, and while the vegetables weren't great, the rest of the meal was delicious. The food was traditional and filling, making it a great choice for those looking for authentic cuisine in a lively atmosphere.

Stick to drinks and fish and chips at a push… the pub has a nice atmosphere but the food was a let down. Been a few times and the food seems to always be pretty sub par. My food came late after everyone else on my table. My meat was undercooked, thought I was being over dramatic and unfortunately didn’t realise till I got to the end and used my flashlight because it was very dimly lit and they said “sometimes it can look like it’s undercooked due to the seasoning”. Was sick when I got home… rest of the table were not particularly impressed with their food either, hence the two stars.

Wheelchair Accessibility assessment: nice step-free entrance to the pub with a wide door. Has a wheelchair accessible toilet on the ground floor that needs to enter a radar key. Toilet is far enough to maneuver and has gripping rails and red emergency cable (which was out of reach at the time of the visit). The bar has no shorter altitude, so was a little hard to reach and pay my drinks. Would be great if detailed information about accessibility is available on their website.

We had our team's Christmas dinner at this restaurant. There were plenty of options for both vegetarians and meat-eaters. Despite the busy and noisy atmosphere (due to a football game and other Christmas dinners), we still had a great meal. Luckily, they were able to accommodate our group of 30 people. I highly recommend this restaurant for large group bookings.

stylish pub with a very beautiful escap. eating is good and includes the usual pub fare. how often happens in posher pubs, the service is not always great and can come up with a bit of a hire, but there is a very friendly waiter that we always make sure that I unfortunately forget his name, but will add it here asap

too loud, way way way too loud to enjoy dinner (or even a drink). it was mid week 7:30pm, we had booked and were seated to a nice corner table. still, we had to shout to be able to talk to one another. food was ok/average, service was hit and miss depending on who you approached.

because it is always full, this is almost inevitable, especially because the “Marquis Cornwallis” is more stylish than the majority of the pubs. also eating is quite good and the staff is very nice.
