The Merchant's Yard

Stayed recently on a two night walking break in the area. The place is absolutely fantastic, the staff are all friendly , professional and very helpful. The room was immaculate and the food at breakfast delicious. The cleanliness of the whole establishment is a credit to the staff, every area was spotless. Even the car park ! I would definitely recommend this place and will be back. Great place with fantastic food and professional service. Rooms: Spacious , very clean and a great bathroom. Comfy bed. Nearby activities: Great walking area and close to Buxton, Bakewell etc Food drinks: Great menu and very good quality. Noteworthy details: Friendly and helpful staff

The food was lovely and would definitely recommend. It would’ve been 5 stars but we felt rushed, food was brought out before we finished even trying our bread to start. We were seated at a very small table which wasn’t really large enough for the Sunday roast. Larger tables were available the whole time we were there, we didn’t ask to move as assumed they would be taken and it was too late by the time food/drinks/plates etc had been served. Would definitely recommend to prioritise Sunday roast diners on the larger tables.

We booked Sunday lunch for four people, lovely place and extra special food with excellent service. We couldn’t recommend this place more and very reasonable priced. We will be going back again soon.
