After seeing fab reviews about this place really have started to wonder about what people see in places and food as frankly this place was awful; not only very expensive but poorly cooked food; chips are supposedly shaped pieces of potato soft on the inside and crispy on the outside; these were more like scrap ends left over after cutting chips that when fried just became an oily mess; fish was flavourless with batter undercooked and underwhelming; mushy peas had no seasoning and obviously not home made out of some plastic bag as was the curry sauce; so not only appalling food but over priced; get yourself up north lad learn how to make proper fish and chips or go back to school as frankly t...
My husband and I came across this little gem when walking from the car park to the harbour. We ordered cod each and one portion of chips. Very friendly staff serving and gave us a pot of homemade tartar sauce on the house We found a bench near the harbour and tucked in absolutely yummy and the best battered cod we have had for a long time, generous portion of chips and plenty for two. Really enjoyed the tartar sauce.What a great find and no hesitation recommending this take out
As a fan of his previous fish restaurant, I was excited to see that Chef Ovi and his wonderful wife had taken over a local takeaway... Needless to say, though the premises has downsized, the quality has not. Amazingly fresh Cod, perfectly cooked chips, moreish homemade tartare sauce, and service with a smile from the great Front-of-House team! I will certainly be telling people about this new venture and I can't wait to return. Steve
We have been coming to Cornwall for the last 10 years and have visited St.Ives for the last few years and have to say the Albatross is definitely the best fish and chips in town! The batter and quality of the fish is finger licking good and the chips?! my goodness absolutely delicious!! 10/10.They also top it with excellent customer service.

Best chips in St Ives!! I have been coming to St Ives every year for 24 years and this year decided to have chips from the Albatross. They we’re cooked fresh to order, so crispy on the outside and fluffy in the middle Loved it so much headed back again the next night and they were just as good!!
I can definitely recommend the Cod and chips which I had with curry sauce. Most enjoyable and cooked very well. The batter was crispy and thin which is the way I prefer it cooked.
Honestly the food is so so good here. Very authentic Mexican food and staff are very friendly, definitely a hidden gem. Make sure you book before hand to avoid disappointment!
U am one fussy person with chips and there chips were lovely perfect infact my kids loved there chips and sasage n gerkins unfortanitly no were to sit but food was lovely

Very bad food! Chips were very hard, surprised they served chips in that state! Not worth the money!
