The Mill Of The Black Monks

This is the second time I have eaten at The Mill of the Black Monks this year. Firstly I had a business meal. The roast dinners we ordered were exceptional. What a fabulous venue to have a meeting! Because I enjoyed it so much, I brought my family yesterday for a special treat and that it was. The children's portions were excellent, the steak pie and burgers were so good, really excellent quality meat. But the most important thing of all was the service. The same young lady served me in both visits. She was so personable, nothing was too much trouble. You cannot put a price on that… The bill on both occasions was very reasonable, we will be back. Found this unique place on a local walk where we called in for drinks one sunday and couldn't wait to come back for food. Was not disappointed. The food was amazing. Everything tasted beautiful and was cooked perfectly. Portion sizes were very generous. We had all 3 courses which were all lovely. The service was brilliant. 2 imparticular. Didn't catch their names but we briefly chatted about both owning t4s. She was lovely. The 2nd was a young lady with plaits in. Very attentive and organising other staff to get jobs done etc. The building itself is stunning and so full of character. Very shocked to see unpleasant reviews as our experience was 100% perfect.

Went with the family for lunch yesterday and all thoroughly enjoyed it! The food was delicious and portion sizes were plenty! It was very busy but the staff were cheery and attentive and our glasses were never sat empty , which is always a plus for me. The building is beautiful and will be recommending visiting to friends and family. We have booked a table to visit again on Saturday to try the evening menu, can't wait!

Wow this place is just amazing . We have visited here a lot lol . My boyfriend always orders the stake said he’s never had anything like it in his life . I’ve had duck . Stake pie . Burger. But upto now my favourite has to be the lamb shank falls off the bone and melts in your mouth amazing . Will see you at valentines yum yum Reserva una mesa ahora

Well where do I start, the food was lovely the waitresses couldn't do enough for you , but I was disgusted in how management I believe she's called Julie spoke to her staff. Publicly humiliating them at any given chance ! Me and my friends won't be returning again due to this behaviour.

Love coming here for Sunday lunch, it’s just a shame that they never change the vegetarian option. The vegetarian wellington is a mushroom filled pastry which doesn’t go at all with a Sunday lunch and the meatless version is no less expensive.

Excellent food and service Also what an amazing building Theonly downside is that there are a lot of stairs to get down to the toilet (I understand that's just a personal problem and it was worth it just to eat in such an amazing place)

Amazing food, superb staff, loved every bite of food. Me and my family would come back again. Who ever makes the beef wellington, know what they are doing. As for dessert, absolutely stunning. Reserva una mesa ahora

Great food, service and atmosphere. Me and my husband had a great meal and enjoyed a 3 course meal. Price reasonable and plenty of parking.
