My Cousin has intolerances and dislkies to certain food. Nothing major but this is very important! I went back to her, she asked if she could have a Tuna sandwich with no onion or sweetcorn no the mix is already made. I have always enjoyed going to Ruxley and have a special fondness for this place. During my most recent visit, I went to the restaurant and ordered two hot sandwiches for myself and a jam sandwich for my toddler daughter. The restaurant was quite busy at 2pm, and we ended up waiting for 40 minutes before I approached the waitress at the counter to inquire about our order. I was informed that it was currently being prepared, which I could understand given the busy atmosphere. However, I believe it would have been helpful if there had been an upfront explanation upon arrival about the potential for a 30-minute wait for hot food due to the high volume of customers. The restaurant deserves 5* as the food and service we received was fantastic. The quiet room is a great place to chat, eat and drink but one thing that let it down was the constant opening of the door due to staff serving the customers in the pods outside. Every time the door was opened a cold gale blew through the restaurant. Please take into account that a lot of elderly people use this part of the restaurant and tend to feel the cold much more than others like my mum did. The restaurant at the garden center has a spacious dining area. The food is similar to what you would find in a canteen, but it is decent. The service is quick and the food tastes good, although it is nothing extraordinary. Prices may feel a bit high, but this could be typical for the area. There is plenty of seating available in the restaurant.

Just been today for cream tea in the pods as a birthday treat with my mum , daughter and grandsons Absolutely fantastic, beautiful food , lovely friendly staff and a cosy warm pod all to ourselves Could not recommend more highly and plan to make this a new Christmas tradition Thanks to the lovely lady who served us too All wonderful
Had a look round the garden center .won't let you look at christmas decorations they say to early .so went to the restaurant place was nice and clean staff were really friendly we had the gardeners breakfast was really nice with a pot of tea to wash it all down lovely thank you
All automated now. Nice idea to order at the table and have everything delivered. Seemed to work well although meant that we were all looking at our phone for the first ten minuets of sitting down. Not very sociable. Good choice of drinks. Food ok, if a little expensive.
I recently visited this restaurant for coffee and cake. They had a wonderful variety of cakes to choose from.
