The New Inn - Reserva de mesa

Sweet old pub in super quiet location. Nutcha so polite and friendly. Husband cooks. This is not fast food, but delicious. Crab was on special, baguette or salad. Salad imaginative with fruits. Also home-made potato salad, very good. My husband had the burger, which he enjoyed, with excellent chips, which we all picked at. Interesting old photos, cosy old fireplace. A proper old-style pub, with modern cooking. All it lacks is a cat! The village now has good parking by the playing field, walk down from there to pub and admire the lovely church (open in day-time) and old cottages, some with pretty gardens.

We came for lunch and were delighted to be offered some menu items very different from the usual pub lunch menus. We began with spicy Korean squid. Fabulous flavours, and plenty to share as a starter. Next we had Thai chicken curry pies, served with chips and peas. Delicious! The couple who own the pub came to talk to us -she is Thai and took time to tell us how she prepares and cooks the food. I wish we lived closer so could come here again! It was a delightful experience- they were such lovely hosts and we so enjoyed our lunch. If you wish for more usual fare it is also available.

My sister and I were on vacation in Devon and decided to meet our Nephew, who works nearby, for lunch. After finding The New Inn online, we were pleasantly surprised. We were greeted warmly upon arrival, and the cozy fire was a welcome sight on a rainy day. We all enjoyed a delicious Sunday lunch, and the owners were very accommodating to our requests. The prices were very reasonable and affordable for families on a budget (approximately £7 for a child's portion). The desserts were also tasty. Our Nephew was so impressed that he immediately booked a table for the following Sunday.

Typical village pub, nice pint of real ale, was told the Korean spicey chicken was good so ordered it with squid for starters, and fish and chips for main, starters were tasty and cooked to perfection, as for the fish and chips, they were the best I'd ever had, not a scrap left on the plate. The New Inn recently held a fish and chip supper night on 29/9/23 which was outstanding - in fact, it was the best fish and chips I've had in a long time. The fish was incredibly fresh and the batter was light and crispy. Kudos to Tim and Natcha for a job well done.

A large group of us went out for a meal and we were all impressed with the starters, main dishes, and desserts. However, the standout dish was the chicken peanut curry, which was the best I've ever had.

Lovely village pub delicious and competitively priced for a Sunday roast. Food and service was fantastic and would highly recommend the pung ping (Thai dessert)

Wonderful meal in a beautiful historic Devon inn. Everything was prepared by the owner and his wife. Very friendly place.

Absolutely fantastic food , really great atmosphere but the honey toast is the very best thing about the meal !!
