The New Lamp - Reserva de mesa

The starter we had was absolutely gorgeous (halloumi fries), however, the main was very disappointing. I had fish chips and my husband had southern fried chicken burger and both of them tasted like they weren’t made fresh but were frozen. The texture for both of them weren’t great! I also don’t know if it’s just the time we went (Sunday lunchtime), but there was only one staff member serving, which meant that service was rather slow at least until another staff member started their shift. Service was alright though.

We wanted to find somewhere local to eat after a walk. The staff were very welcoming and the beef roast dinner was absolutely gorgeous. The soup of the day was lovely, too. They give generous portions. The landlord told me about another local walk. We will do that at some point and come here again to eat. Great place! Parking: About 8 spots in the free car park. Price per person: £20–30

Really enjoyed a family meal at the New Lamp today. Great selection of beers and a warm welcoming environment. What’s not to love!!

Very good value tasty food. Extra friendly staff. Wednesday special curry and drink offer was very good. Cask beer from Congleton.
