We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights over the weekend while visiting the Christmas Market in Bath. We stayed in the Avon room, which was beautifully renovated and stylish. The room was clean and comfortable, with a nice touch of having a cafetiere and proper coffee. We appreciated the relaxing music playing on the radio when we arrived, it really added to the atmosphere. The room also had a lovely terrace balcony, although we didn't get to use it much due to the cold weather. Despite being concerned about noise from the pub/restaurant below, it was mostly quiet. My family and I visited this restaurant on Boxing Day without a reservation and were amazed by the incredibly friendly staff and service we received. Despite how busy the servers were, they went above and beyond to attend to each customer's needs. I had to ask for their names before we left to ensure they received the credit they deserved for working so tirelessly. Thank you to Lucy and Sophie for making our Boxing Day meal so special. The Northey has had a revamp and it is delightful. Much better layout and even the staff are happier with their work place. Not only that the food was greatly improved with more vegetarian options. We have been here quite often living near by and we will use it more often. My husband said his venison was some of the best he’d ever had and my parsnip soup was scrumptious . I had a small fish and chips which was delicious in every way. Well done everyone at the Northey, you’ve nailed it!
We are regulars at my wife’s favourite pub. The pub has recently had a lovely interior refit and the venue looks amazing. Our food was presented well on the plates. My wife’s soup was hot and very tasty. I had the gnocchi with squash and kale. It was an interesting plate of food. All the elements were perfectly cooked. A lovely mix of textures and taste. Nicely poured pint of Guinness, as well. Friendly and helpful staff on hand. Great place to eat.

I have been coming to this pub since 1980. so have seen many many changes. This pub is now Butcombe. It has had a recent refurbishment. It had a fabulous make over,its rustic.cosy and inviting.Tasteful an beautifuly decked out. I had a light lunch,which was very tasty. The team are relatively new ? but very attentive without being pushy. Lovely relaxing vist. All in all excellent.
Superb every time. After 10+ visits the Northly always meets my expectations and more. Everything is just want you want. Food, hospitality and environment. I can’t even write names every single member of the team always delivers. They never have a bad day, rude or anything else. They meet you with a smile and warm welcome. Maddy you have a great team
Had a wonderful lunch with my family at this restaurant. While the vegetarian options were limited, the beetroot risotto was delightful. It was also great to see a wide selection of desserts on the menu, including the option for smaller portions. The staff were very kind and hospitable.

A good location to visit with friends in Bath, we had clean, comfortable and well-equipped rooms in a separate building away from the pub with ample safe parking. Lovely staff without exception, very good breakfast and lunch. (Also reviewed in Booking)
