Recently dined at Tylney Hall and had a wonderful experience. The food, atmosphere, and wine selection were all excellent, but the standout was the exceptional staff. Each member we encountered was welcoming, professional, and warm, with Damien particularly standing out for his friendliness, humor, and impressive wine pouring skills. Despite the busy pace of the restaurant, every staff member made us feel comfortable and unrushed throughout our meal. The service was attentive and knowledgeable, adding to the overall enjoyment of the evening. We visited for a special occasion and were not disappointed. As usual the staff from the main door to the Oak Room Restaurant were brilliant. The meals were exceptional though expensive. It used to be a place where I would attend to celebrate a special occasion with friends regardless of cost. I was sorry to find that the the standard of dress in the Oak Room restaurant has been lowered to that of the normal outside restaurants. Some looked as if they had just left the beach while others had lap-tops on the table and were using them whilst eating. Both in the restaurant and the Library Bar my Brandy was served in a whisky glass. The copper in the gentleman"s toilet has not been cleaned since Miss Mooney left and is a disgrace!
The restaurant had excellent service from attentive waitstaff and a promising atmosphere, but unfortunately the menu did not meet expectations. The plant-based tart was lacking in flavor and heavy on onions, while the Filet Beef was drowned in gravy and served with lukewarm mashed potatoes that lacked finesse. It was disappointing as we had high hopes for the restaurant due to its lovely setting, but it seemed the kitchen chef was not at their best on the day of our visit.
The steak tastes good, the portion is large, the oysters are delicious, the bread is delicious, the onion rings are fried well, the fries are too dry, and the desserts are average. Fabulous 'From Russia with Love ' building ... with an 18 hole golf course and swimming pools indoor and outdoor plus Spa treatments The food is lovely as is the very attentive and caring waitress service ... across the hotel I 'd highly recommend a 3 day stay ... at least
