The meal looked good I had all 3 meats gammon, turkey , beef ,the beef joint was sirlion after speaking to the chief. He reckoned the sirloin was the best joint for large numbers to eat as a roast dinner. A good third of this beef was grisle It was hard to cut and was hard to find a prime piece of meat. The new potatoes also looked nice and covered in herbs spices they was hard and tasted terribly . When I cook beef in the slow cooker for 8 9 HOURS TOP side you can eat it with a spoon. The chief told us he never eats roast dinners I feel sure this is where the problem starts . I WOULD never let this guy cook more than a breakfast fearing he wud get this wrong.
This restaurant is a hidden gem! We stumbled upon it on our way back from visiting Clarkson's Diddly Squat Farm. The Sunday roast was absolutely fantastic and the food was of great quality. The service was wonderful, and hosts Alex and Amanda made us feel very welcome and at ease. They even provided snacks for our tired dogs. It's a pity that it's so far from home because I can see it becoming a regular favorite. Keep up the great work, and best wishes for the future from The Yorkshire Puds.
Having visited this pub on numerous occasions over the past 15 years and left disappointed with both the food and hospitality what a great experience we had on Friday night.The staff are welcoming and the small tasty menu was cooked well and served hot.We have been recommended to visit again by friends for Sunday Lunch, we have booked in and can not wait.
I was looking for somewhere to take my friend so looked at the reviews through TripAdvisor, the reviews were good apart from the odd one or two so thought we'd give it a go. It has changed hands and has been renovated, we both thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, food was lovely, service excellent, would certainly go back again!

I recently enjoyed a wonderful Mother's Day lunch at the Old Chestnut Tree in Lower Moor. The staff were welcoming, friendly, and efficient, the atmosphere was cozy, and the Sunday roast was absolutely delicious. Thank you to everyone involved!
Visited this beautiful pub today for sunday dinner. The welcome from staff, the service and the amazing meal was second to none. If I lived closer this would be a regular aunt for me. Thank-you to all the lovely staff.
Amazing service, staff and drinks Can’t fault at all! Food came out within 10 minutes! The roast platter is Great value For money and delish!

This isnt even an inn, However, the lady on the phone sounded pretty god damn gorge. She was very friendly. Lovely place.
Fabulous food and fabulous service. Price is very reasonable. Will be back. Steak was amazing and great value.
