This review focuses on The Old Civic in Mona Vale. This café is situated in a mediocre shopping center. Was driving by Forestway stopped in to get takeaway lunch for two: was told I could order but they wouldn’t start preparing it until 12:00pm it was 11:47pm. I asked if they could be flexible, but was told no. The person operating the till was pleasant enough, but to not offer a crossover from breakfast to lunch, not even 10 15 mins, and especially with a customer requesting lunch, is simply arrogant. Really wanted to go somewhere else, but Forestway Shopping Centre is crying out for some decent competition. I’ll keep on driving next time.
I recently went to this restaurant for breakfast and was disappointed by the cleanliness of the tables and floor. The tables were dirty and the floor looked like it had not been swept or cleaned in a while. I noticed that the bottom of my table had accumulated dirt over time. I brought these issues to the attention of the waiter, but no action was taken. Upon leaving, no one attempted to communicate with me and I observed the staff laughing. I will not be returning to this restaurant.
Even though I live closer to their sister cafe, the New Civic, I much prefer the drive to their original cafe. Has a great menu for both breakfast and lunch and doesn't matter what I order, it never disappoints. Been coming here for at least a couple of years now and have to say that it's one of the most consistent for food quality and service.

Eat in, I would expect some sort of service. Have to get your own cutlery, condiments and order at the till. And I would expect at least both hot meals to arrive roughly the same time. As a couple we ate separately. Food was average. Fresh but nothing special.
Cant remember the last time I had a more delicious Bacon Egg Roll. I requested a crispy bead roll, and cheese, and I loved every mouthful. Im not a big eater, but devoured my Roll, each time I brought one..... Salivating now as I talk
I come here often but have never done a review. The coffee is excellent and service prompt and staff friendly. The bacon egg rolls are to die for and very generous serving of bacon eggs!
I’ve been here for lunch a few times, The lunch menu has burgers, Mexican food and salads, from what I remember. The wise guy burger is delicious, my favourite thing on the menu!

The coffee is good, the staff is friendly, and the special of a Bacon and Egg Roll with a large coffee for $10 is an excellent and tasty deal. It's great value for money.
Had the Hamburger. It was average. A cafe with an alleged cuisine of American Tex-Mex Diner was no better than buying a MacDonalds hamburger.
