The Old Courthouse

After a walk around Gosford Forest Park 16 of us packed into the back room of the Old Courthouse for our meal. I would concur with other recent comments. The food is what one would appreciate after some exercise home cooked, plentiful and very appetising at very reasonable cost. Contrary to some previous comments the service was second to none. The two girls made us feel welcome and were most attentive. The fire in the main room is very welcoming and the decor and general atmosphere puts you at your ease immediately on entering. A good choice!

Ate here during a training day held in the room upstairs. Tea and shortbread biscuits were lovely staff had to be encouraged to use tongs to lift biscuits, I always feel awkward asking servers to use tongs instead of their hands! For lunch i ordered a chicken Caesar salad which i had to return as there was no chicken on it! It had been forgotten in the kitchen it was lovely when finally in front of me though. A bit more organising required when a crowd of people are in would be good, apart from that the food was nice.

The restaurant has a charming atmosphere with the scent of wood and fresh food. Located in a historic courthouse, it exudes old Irish charm and feels like a step back in time. Despite being close to closing time, the waitress was friendly and hospitable. The scones were served with fresh cream and my kids' meals were delivered patiently and with a smile. I look forward to trying their famous Sunday lunch on my next visit.

If you want good quality food at an excellent price this is the place to go. Don't expect anything fancy, just pull up a chair beside the fire and enjoy.

Tasty food, great service and good value. Stopped by at 2:00 pm our group had a mixture of lunch and breakfast and everyone was impressed.
