I have stopped in here 3 times now for dinner on a Sunday evening with no luck, the first time I went in at 7pm and I was informed the kitchen had just closed so I left again, the second time I went was at 6:40pm and again the kitchen had just closed so I went around to the public bar for a drink where I waited 20 minutes to be given a drink then on the third time I went it was 6:25pm and to my surprise yet again the kitchen had just closed, the main reason I keep trying is because I was told the food is good and on thier website it states the restaurant is open to 8 on a Sunday, I will not be stopping for food again to be disappointed for the fourth time
Lovely place, I've been a few times. Service is as prompt as it can be depending on how busy they are. Food is absolutely amazing, good portion size, full of flavour always clean plates when we dine there. No issue with staff as they are polite professional. I can't imagine how hard it must be serving so many customers in a busy environment still for it not to be good enough for some people. This is a lovely restaurant with a perfect cosy atmosphere, more importantly impeccable food brilliant staff. Hats off to them all including the chefs. Thanks again
I recently visited the Old Thatch Inn for Sunday dinner, and it was my second time there. The parking outside was convenient, and we had a lovely cosy table next to the fireplace. The food was delicious and served with flair. I want to give a special shoutout to Ronan and Nicole for their efficient service, pleasant conversation, and great recommendations on the food. I highly recommend the Old Thatch Inn and can't wait to go back in a couple of weeks. This is now my favorite restaurant in Mid Ulster.
Recently celebrated our Mam's 80th birthday here! Booked last minute for a large family buffet and luckily they were able to squeeze us in between. Cannot praise these girls enough, food was fantastic and service was amazing, nothing was a problem for these girls even tho they were busy we were very well seen too and we never once felt rushed, even with our limited time! Thankyou thatch staff we had a great afternoon, We'll be back

Delightful thatched whitewashed cottage with very cosy interior. We had a really warm welcome and outstanding service. Our lunches all featured quality ingredients beautifully presented which we did enjoy. Most certainly this restaurant is excellent in every way and we will go back next time we are in Northern Ireland. Seamus Heaney is strongly featured and his museum is nearby. I strongly recommend this great restaurant.
We had a family meal for 8 at this restaurant. We were seated in a nice, cozy private corner that was very comfortable. Everyone enjoyed their main dishes, and I had the goujons with garlic fries. The desserts were also delicious, especially the jam and coconut sponge with custard that I had. The staff were very friendly and the location was cute. We will definitely be returning! Thank you to everyone at the inn.
We are home from our recent family staycation in River Bann retreat! Thought we would leave some reviews on our experiences. Stopped into Thatch Inn by chance on the Sunday after hearing good things about the place, and got the best table in the house, right beside the t.v. for the Derry v Kerry match! Food was lovely, service was great and great atmosphere! Highly recommend the pepper sauce! Definitely be back!
Excellent Food, Service atmosphere. Ate here 2 Sundays on the trott with friends who know the place well and what a wonderful recommendation. Great food(probs the best Ribeye I have had in 3 months of dining out !! great service and cracking atmosphere

Lunch, family meal, drinks, private party …… the thatch is my number one fav spot for it all! I love the atmosphere the food is always great, even for a fussy eater like myself! Also serves the best bramble cocktail around!!
A big group of women had a wonderful dining experience at The Old Thatch. The food was tasty and the service was outstanding. Jonathan was very attentive and made our time there a joy. We will definitely be coming back.
