Came up to visit a freind. Don 't normally put a review up but noticed someone saying silly things about the place. Yes the place closed at 4pm for food but when I asked the owner they advised me that was because they have just taken over and trying to get to know there customers base . Good idea really before you jump right in and close at 8pm for food... I was there before lock down and the decor has been changed big time and is clean and brighter. The place and staff are I would say 100 percent better, with the karaoke being probably the best I heard
I haven't been for years and the decor was much better. Looked really nice and the staff were very friendly. The only thing that let them down was the food. I had chicken coujons, the chicken itself was a block of chicken. So probably reconstituted, rather than a nice fresh piece. But the meal was very cheap, so wasn't expecting much. If you wanted something warm and inexpensive. This is perfect, for you. It's right in the center of town and had lots of different alcohol etc. I personally prefer to pay a bit more and eat something better quality.
They stop serving food around 4pm, so unless your unemployed or an alcoholic you won’t get food. Bizarre considering most people work till 5. Decor is outdated. Missing a trick as they could modernise with the rest of the world and make more money. Similar bars in the area like coast and the townhouse are on a different level of service and atmosphere. Walking into the bar I could hardly hear myself think, the music was that loud. The place was empty. Not great for visitors to Arbroath. I suppose people will just vote with their feet.
During my visit to Arbroath today, I unexpectedly came across this charming restaurant. The food was delightful and the interior was inviting. The staff were friendly and the homemade dishes were exceptional. I enjoyed a bowl of soup and a vegan chili, both of which were delicious. Overall, a fantastic dining experience!

I used to visit this place frequently when it was under previous management. I recently revisited and found that the food wasn't as good as before, but it was still okay and affordable. The bar staff were talkative and welcoming. The pub was clean and well-kept.
Visited on an afternoon when a table in the centre of the lounge was filled with extremely loud people so it was a matter of getting the ear plugs in and finishing our drinks pretty quickly. Also the dark interior is a bit of a turn-off
Had a lovely lunch here with my family. Perfectly cooked home cooking with extensive menu. All very reasonably priced and good portions. Very much a locals place and very pet friendly! We'll be back!
Went on Sunday 5 o'clock for dinner. Service was excellent. Waitress very pleasant and efficient. Soup steakpie and sticky toffee pudding all delicious. Reasonably priced as well

I have visited this restaurant several times recently and the food is delicious. The new owners have really made a positive impact. I would definitely recommend stopping by.
Doe what it says on the on the tin..Standard pub grub. Efficient service. Near centre of town so easy to access from the high street.
