Always searching for an excellent pit beef sandwich (a.k.a. MD BBQ), I decided to try this place. It’s a bit tricky since they only serve pit beef during lunch on Thursdays and Fridays. This sandwich was almost the complete opposite of the last pit beef I had at Beefalo Bob’s. Unlike their heavily smoky beef, The Pit Sandwich had barely any smoky flavor. The beef was sliced from an Alto-Shaam (hot box), not off a pit. The result was well-cooked, though a bit cold, beef that lacked the traditional pit flavor and texture. The service at this restaurant is exceptionally friendly, and their homemade BBQ and sides are truly impressive. Just a heads-up: they are only open on Thursdays and Fridays from 10 AM to 2 PM. I enjoyed a delicious combo meal that featured ham, macaroni salad, and baked beans for only $12, with generous portions that were perfectly balanced—not too sweet at all. While I still think West River BBQ holds the top spot, this place is definitely worth checking out for some great BBQ. The BBQ sauce I bought at Sprouts paired wonderfully with the pit ham!
Not a bad place.. Great price. Had to edit my review and give it an extra star. My first experience was just okay. Tasted like sandwich meat. However, when I had it again, the meat was super smokey and flavorful. I guess depending on the day the meat can be less smokey than other days. It's a basic sandwich with meat and bread though. You can top it with onions and a sauce to your liking. Good lunch spot for the area. Would go again.
In my view, nothing embodies Baltimore cuisine better than a flawlessly crafted pit beef sandwich on a Kaiser roll. This charming little place got it just right. The staff was welcoming, and there are lovely dining spaces on the upper level. The pit beef was cooked to perfection and generously topped with onions. I will certainly be back the next time I'm in the area.

Saw this hole in the wall on my way to work and decided to stop in. I got the pulled pork combo with Mac cheese and baked beans. Smokey flavor on the beans and perfect amount of cheese on the macaroni. Only complaint i have is, I didnt get a thicker bun as the meat is so juicy it soaks the bun. 5/5 Would recommend
True HIDDEN gem. Limited hours, only open a few days a week and if you sneeze you may drive right past it but if you do get lucky and stop by when they are open the pit beef is excellent. Portions are big. Super friendly staff and owners. Will definitely return.
The Pit Sandwich Spot 700 South is an excellent choice for lunch on Thursdays or Fridays if you’re nearby! I tried the Baltimore double sausage, and it was absolutely delicious. I look forward to coming back to explore the rest of their pit beef menu!
Thursdays and Fridays they do Pit Beef, Turkey, and Ham and it is outstanding. Highly recommend you try this place if you're around. You will not be disappointed but you may encounter a line depending on when you try to go.

Pit beef sandwich was tasty. Mac and cheese was good, wasn?t a fan of the baked beans tho. Staff was friendly, I would go again and try their other options
