I popped in for a quick sausage sandwich as I?ve done a few times before but was sad to find out they didn?t have any today. I nervously tried the brisket, knowing that brisket can be hit or miss. I was amazed! The flavor had just the right smoky zing I look for in a brisket and it was tender and perfect! The service was, as always very friendly and the dining area was clean and well maintained. If you?re in the area and have a craving for good food this is the spot!
The Pit Stop is hands down the best BBQ I have ever had. It's the best I've found in NOVA...or anywhere for that matter. Locally, I have enjoyed Black Hog, Schmidt's, Mission, Monks, Carolina Brothers, ResQ BBQ, and Yummy Pig. It's weird. We love these guys, but our restaurant experience is hit and miss. Sometimes everything is totally awesome and the ribs fall off the bone, but the time you'd have to be a beaver to try and chew the ribs off the bone. And my last visit I had bragged about your kale and my visiting relatives insisted that we make the 2 hr drive to get some. And the cook forgot to prepare them. Best BBQ place in DC area! (And I have been to a lot). The meat is perfectly smoked and they don't weigh it to the 1/10th of an ounce. Plenty of portion size! First time here, everything was DELICIOUS. We ordered a bunch of things to try and nothing was a let down. Sweet potato is to die for. Potato salad is bomb. Cornbread is also fabulous. Pulled pork, great! Chicken wings, great! No bad decisions today.
Words cannot describe how delicious this food is! The chicken was well seasoned and the BBQ sauce nicely complimented it. This is a must try! Not to mention, the yams and Mac n cheese were GOOD! Buttery and flavorful in every bite.
