The Plough - Reserva de mesa

Don't come for Sunday lunch. We've been here an hour and still no initial drinks, let alone any food. Seems to be only kids waiting and no communication at all. Just been informed no lamb roast which we ordered over 40 minutes ago. UPDATE Next day: have added one star to food which was ok and another star to overall as per below. We were told that the young lad had forgotten to pass the order ticket to the chef which was not great. This was the reason I had missed my lamb roast as other orders after mine meant it ran out. He was very apologetic but then didn't take care when putting the meals down and while apologising, poured some gravy off the plate edge over my wife's mobile. It was quick...

I made a dinner reservation at this restaurant because it's dog-friendly and we had a great meal here a few months ago. Once again, it did not disappoint. We went on "Pie Tuesday" and enjoyed delicious Steak and Ale Pies. The Squid starter was also good, as well as the desserts. Overall, we have not found better food in the area. There was a resident dog that added to the charming atmosphere. The price per person was around £40-50. Food and service were rated a 5, while the atmosphere was given a 4.

My daughter and I had a really excellent lunch at The Plough Effingham yesterday. We could not fault either the food or the service and would thoroughly recommend this pub. Parking: There was ample parking when we arrived. There were more cars when we left but still some spaces. Lovely welcoming pub with lots of locals. Food was delicious but table for four right next to bar so very noisy to try and talk and people kept pushing past. Booked lunch here to meet a friend so first visit. Not disappointed! Food was great with excellent vegetables to go with really tasty bangers and mash (Sausage week specials! and homemade ice cream. Lovely surroundings and efficient friendly staff. Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4
