1 of all we wish to apologise to The Poacher as this was our not a place we had even thought about, until we made a last minute decision, and OH MY what a FANTASTIC decision it was. Never judge a book by it's cover, well the car park was empty and there was no know else having a meal in the pub at around 3pm on a Friday we thought, this doesn't look good, but hey we here lets at least try and WOW. I have lived in winstanley for a lot of years and the poacher has always had people running it that do not put the time, effort and hard work in, I can honestly say that has now changed, the new management are absolutely amazing Sarah Neil are an incredible couple and have really turned the place around, the food, drinks and atmosphere have improved so much, it is now back to being one of our favourite places to visit, I would highly recommend people go and pay it visit
I didn’t know what I wanted because of all the choice, but the staff helped me out and made it easy. Also the food was delicious. I recommend the tuna melt it was delicious and you get a lot for the price. I will be telling my friends about this place. Plus the management know how to have fun and cheer you up and make you feel welcome.
Me and my mum took my little boy for abit of tea after school and wanted to stay local , and we all absolutely loved the food , my mother is quite a fussy eater ate her whole meal without complaint which Is a first food was fresh hot and just so tasty ! Made up with it thanks so much

Not been here for a few years but definitely gone down hill massively since my last visit. Bar staff are very ignorant and tend to ignore you when waiting. The pub and toilets could do with a good clean.
Amazing food on our current and last 4 visits. We stopped going to our local after numerous bad meals but since the take over and new chef it’s been outstanding. Thank you! Great value and great food
I highly recommend this restaurant for a meal. The staff is very friendly and welcoming, and they are great with children. The food is delicious, and overall a great dining experience.
I visited the restaurant on Saturday. The entertainment was enjoyable. Lewis, our bartender, was very friendly and helpful. The food was delicious.

The food was terrible, everything seemed to have been reheated in the microwave, including the steak. I would advise against dining here.
Nice evening Food very good the mixed grill was delicious and great value for money. Staff lovely. Will be visiting again soon
