The Pool Cafe - Reservar una mesa

I visited twice in the last week due to proximity to Mahon Pool. TLDR great location, but overpriced food and long wait times. First visit We came for a late lunch, dine in. Place was busy, but we waited forty mins for burgers. They weren’t cheap, and they were bland (beef and lamb burgers). The chips were like little stubbles of potato overcooked and only a couple of cm long. My coffee was also bitter. Came back today for a takeaway drink. I waited for 25 mins for a milkshake. There were heaps of staff, but it looked like they were more concerned with taking the orders of new customers rather than preparing the orders for their exisiting ones. We went to the Pool Cafe on a busy Sunday. I 've always had good food and coffees from the cafe before but on this occasion my husband 's iced mocha was luke warm, and our fried egg arrived with a piece of shell on the yolk. We also waited for a table and eventually found our own as it was clear the people we were told were 'leaving in 5 mins ' were not. However, the toughest thing for us was that our son 's assistance dog was not allowed in. Assistance animals are allowed into all cafes (just look up the legislation). The dog has a public access pass and is a trained certified assistance animal. The man seating everyone would not let us inside. Luckily it was a warm day and we sat outside,...

Have to agree with the last three reviews. Really bland food and seriously over priced. They took payment before the food arrived. We asked three times for our drinks which one waitress said she’d forgotten. Even after reminding her she failed to bring them. We probably waited half an hour for the drinks. And only got them when we went and stood by the bar. Meanwhile we watched staff wandering around aimlessly. There seemed to be very little coordination. I would recommend this as a place to eat.

A example of a place that USED to be so nice and is now TERRIBLE. This used to be one of our favourite cafes, sadly this is no longer our view. The food is bang average and overpriced for what you get. Service was TERRIBLE! One girl walked past us 3 or 4 times and ignored us. Cafe is dirty, flies around and tables are a mess. Won’t be back.

Very disappointing breakfast. Staff are completely unorganised and stressed. Food was so average and cold. Not cheap breakfast either. Don’t recommend.
