Historic home converted into a bed and breakfast. They have a bar and restaurant to eat at during the evening as well which I found very tasty and quaint. I am knocking two full stars right off the top mainly because of the lack of cleanliness in the room that they put me in. The windows are so filthy they are full of spider webs and dirt from probably 30 years ago. Baseboard heaters are quite literally falling apart in front of your very eyes and there are so many scars and black marks all over the walls that it makes you look like they gave a child a crayon and let him go crazy inside. With that said, it is a nice little hotel if you are looking for something that is affordable and quiet. I do like the area and it is certainly not a chain which is a big benefit I think! They just need to spend a few bucks to spruce up the rooms and many of the doorways and exterior parts of the house. Paint and some major cleaning would go a long way. Rooms: Very old and I can only speak to one room but it was in dire need of cleaning. Dirty windows and the baseboard heaters were quite literally falling apart in front of your eyes. Needs a new coat of paint like no body's business! Walkability: The only thing you're walking to here is your car. Food drinks: They do have on site dining at a restaurant, but it is not open late. We had our wedding at the Quechee Inn and loved it. It was great having the whole Inn available for just your own guests for the weekend. We loved being able to host the welcome party on Friday night there. They also have the option to host rehearsal dinner. It's such a picturesque, quintessential old New England Inn. The tavern and the rooms are charming and cozy, with beautiful old wooden beams and fireplaces. The outdoor location is also gorgeous, with lots of opportunities for beautiful pictures. The food is delicious everyone let us know they were really impressed, from breakfast, to dinner at the Inn, to the actual wedding food. They also do a great job of breaking down the costs of the wedding ahead of time so there aren't any major surprises we really appreciated this after seeing other venues that weren't as upfront. Everything went very smoothly for the wedding, so we were able to relax and enjoy the day. We had a great experience and highly recommend. Rooms: 5 Service: 5 Location: 5

My husband and I stayed here for one night. The restaurant was delicious. The staff was very friendly. However, our room was very disappointing. The furniture was old, ugly, uncomfortable and mismatched. The paint on the walls and trim was dingy, dirty and chipped all over. The “desk” area was a piece of Formica countertop held up by an ugly wooden brace. The bathroom sink was the same Formica. The floor had not been vacuumed as we found a hair clip, a pebble and a pill blister pack on the floor. I expected a much nicer room. The hallways were also in need of vacuuming and some new carpet and paint. Rooms: 1 Location: 4

Our room was filthy. Dust and grit all over the floor. The shower did not drain and shower curtain was disgusting. We had to scrub our feet when we got out of the shower. Toilet was not too clean. The bed was comfortable and seemed clean. We couldn’t eat here bc each night had a private party. The breakfast was not appetizing. The service was “can’t be bothered.” However, it’s in a gorgeous location, near Woodstock and lots of beautiful places to hike and things to see. This place is in a great location but needs a complete makeover. Rooms: 1 Service: 2 Location: 3
