The Red Chamber - Reserva de mesa

Our decision to dine here was spontaneous, and in hindsight, I wish we hadn't chosen this restaurant. There have been noticeable changes since the new management took over, although the ownership remains the same. The place was quite busy, presumably because it was payday. We needed a table for five, but only three of us would be dining: my daughter (17) and her friend (20) weren’t ordering any food. I started by ordering drinks for my wife and myself at the bar, but I was disappointed to find that although they advertised a Carling tap, the beer actually came from a can. They also didn’t have any house dry white wine. Once seated, I ordered three normal Cokes—two with ice and one without....

I cannot recommend this restaurant. The food was decent but nothing out of the ordinary, and it was quite overpriced. There weren't enough staff members on duty, which made it very busy and chaotic. My husband ordered a lamb dish with a brown sauce, but when it arrived, it turned out to be nothing more than HP sauce! I have an allergy to onions, and both my main dish and the noodle dish contained spring onions. We had to raise our concerns with the manager, who was not very receptive and only took the noodle dish off the bill. Additionally, the waitress who served us couldn't provide information about the ingredients in some of the dishes we asked about. This restaurant came highly recommend...

The food here is absolutely fantastic! I've been to the buffet many times, and you can just keep ordering as much as you want, with everything served fresh. This option is available from Monday to Thursday. However, outside of those days, it gets quite pricey. The manager can be a bit unpleasant, but it's easy to overlook that!
