The River Hut Bar Restaurant Cafe

This is the most lovely of settings, but both times we have visited the welcome has been unbelievably unfriendly. The first time it was not that busy and so we found a table and had a cocktail and some tapas which were both pretty good, butbthe service was entirely cold. The second time, however, there were no tables outside and it was a beautiful evening. The same man who has been serving on both occasions I think he's the owner, or at least the manager was incredibly unfriendly. I asked if there were tables free outside and he just said, have you booked? I said no and he said no and walked off. No attempt to welcome us inside where it was more or less empty and not a word of greeting at all. It's like he doesn't want any customers. We won't be going for a third time, which is a real shame as it's a cracking spot and would tick every box for us.

The River Hut was actually SO cute on the inside, and the food was great. Fish chips a wee bit soggy, but the burger was incredible, and the service was fantastic. Will definitely be back for one of the themed nights!

Cold steak, served with a mixture of overcooked and under cooked veg. Long wait even though it was only a third full. Nice location doesn't rescue it.

Great location, slow service on this day, always a bit pricier than I expect.

Very loud (not easy to chat and could not even hear the music) bit expensive
