Lovely pub in a lovely setting, nice traditional ambiance and very helpful, polite and friendly staff. However, the food wasn't great to say the least. My steak was cooked okay but the peppercorn sauce was watery and tasteless the chips overdone and also the onion rings. My father's beef and beer pie was watery and tasteless and accompanied by a bowl of over cooked veg. Such a shame as like I say, the pub itself, the setting and the staff were all great. You need to have a word with your chef guys.
This pub used to be one of my favorites. They had great beer and the food was fantastic. However, when I visited earlier this year, I noticed a decline in the quality of the food. I decided to give it another chance in June, but was extremely disappointed. The food was awful, there are no words to describe how bad it was. I used to love their food, but it seems like they may have changed chefs. I will return at the end of the year to see if they have made any improvements. Peace out.
We held the reception after my father’s funeral at the Rose Crown. It was well organised and well catered for. Paul did a great job beforehand in communicating with us and ensuring our guests were looked after. You never know how many people will show for a wake, and in spite more people coming than was anticipated, there was no shortage of food. Thanks for helping us give our dad a great send off!
Delicious food,lovely friendly staff and a lovely quite garden!! What more could you ask for on a lazy Sunday afternoon! Thank you so much, we look forward to our next visit

I celebrated my daughters 1st Communion here with 15 guests. The food was very good, service excellent. Highly recomended.
Lovely country village pub, pop in for a latte, a beer, a bowl of chips or dinner....recommended place for a quiet break
Dreadful inedible chicken for lunch. Men's toilets were overflowing. Generally in need of a good clean. Best avoided.
