We paid a visit to this pub as it was said that it was now a Gastro pub from the outside it looked hopeful. Sadly parking was an issue but we decided to park and walk . Once inside you find a normal city pub large screens showing SKY sports and a bar with a number of men all facing the back wall of the bar with half empty pints before them . The barman was helpful and friendly, the drinks were cheap . I can imagine that on a match day it would be busy, but other nights very quiet. Sadly the pub had an aromatic smell of stale beer, broken dreams and urine. We didn't try the food, in fact when the drinks were finished we left . The atmosphere was not one that I would want to take in for long ....

I had a fantastic time at this pub! It has quickly become my favorite spot. Despite being located near a busy road, the stylish and cozy beer garden made me forget about the noise. The garden is well-enclosed and adds to the overall charm of the pub. During the pandemic, I have been cautious due to my recent surgery, but I felt safe and comfortable at the Royal Oak. I appreciate that they offer local small batch ciders, not just mainstream brands. The bar staff went above and beyond to accommodate our group while also managing the seated tables efficiently. Sam and Alex were exceptional and made my experience even more enjoyable. I will definitely be returning and will recommend this place t...

I do not think there are less beers here now, rather the opposite. I go most Saturdays and last week they had ran out of their home made Ralph Smith 's IPA which being the most popular explains that. However they did have 2 more beers made on the premises and 4 other guest beers,so plenty of choice and not counting the bottled beers. They have always had a range of ciders and several come in cartons kept in the rear and do not take up or replace the beers on tap.The local beer is at a price you could not better anywhere in Bath-I know as I get around most of them. On a cold day it was nice to have a very hot fire burning.

Dropped in last night for a pint and to listen to a folk band. Very pleasant evening, the band were excellent, and were just the right volume (unusual for small pub gigs! Slightly disappointed as a real ale drinker that the pub seems to be reducing the number of beers on tap in favour of even more cider... used to live local to the Royal Oak and regularly dropped in for a pint. That said, the beer I did have was in excellent condition and the barman was happy to let me try before buying always the sign of a good pub. Reserva una mesa ahora

Just to clarify, there are two pubs named The Royal Oak in Bath. This review is referring to the one located on Lower Bristol Road. It seems that some reviewers and photos may be confused. I do not believe this pub serves food. The pub is a straightforward beer establishment with a great selection of beers, some brewed in-house and others from UK and foreign brewers. If you're looking for a traditional pub experience, this is the place to go.

I have visited this restaurant numerous times. As a local resident, I would say it is one of the top pubs in Bath. They offer a fantastic variety of drinks, particularly ales and ciders. The outdoor seating area is lovely and the staff are exceptional. They frequently host live music events, which is a plus! I highly recommend stopping by if you are in the area.

The Royal Oak was recommended to me by a friend as I had to organise a dinner for a large group. We were well looked after the food was very good, I would describe it as good pub food and excellent value, on a friday night we paid £15 for 2 courses and £18 for 3. Walking distance from the centre of Bath.

The week I went they were celebrating five years under the current management with an outstanding set of folk musicians. First night was Nancy Kerr, Martin Simpson and Andy Cutting and various other musicians played during the rest of the week. The beer was good too! Reserva una mesa ahora
