Visited this restaurant in November two years ago, when we had a delicious carvery, and were looking forward to another great meal. It was encouraging to see several gluten free options among the menu's main courses and desserts. However I chose the two courses for £10.95, starting with the soup and GF roll, followed by the homemade GF pie with an additional side dish of vegetables. The portion of soup was large, tasty and very hot and took some time to get through. The pie that followed was again extremely hot, and the contents in a salty, watery gravy not thick enough to hold the pie together. We received a warm welcome to this spotlessly clean and well kept pub with a lovely beer garden and good range of food. The staff are fantastic, helpful and cannot do enough for you, including bring out a ball and bucket for 18 month old to play with (rather than paddle in the dog bowls of water! . The food was delicious and, particularly appreciated there was a vegan option a delicious smoky bean chilli. Great children’s menu too. Unless you need Gordano services facilities in particular, drive 5 mins down the road past the services (take the turning off the roundabout after the services and enjoy a much more restorative stop off. Nine of us out for a family supper. We were met at the entrance by a friendly, welcoming face and shown our table. The waitress came over right away to take the drink order. Drinks came quickly with a smile. Orders for meals were taken and I am sure we didnt wait half an hour before they started to arrive. The steaks were cooked to perfection, to everyone's liking. Our glasses weren't empty for long before being asked for another drink The service was excellent. The only downfall was the vegetarian food came over cooked and a bit too salty. The Veggies of the family weren't too impressed.

I was in a group of about 20 people for a social group Christmas lunch. I had the turkey but I was disappointed that there were no usual Christmas trimmings like the essential pigs in blankets. The food was extremely bland, to be honest the vegetables could have been tinned and the gravy was like tasteless water.The staff however were amazing; friendly, helpful and attentive. What a find ! A seemingly relentless 5 hour journey home with elderly parents. Wanted to give them something to eat rather than motorway caff durge. Spotted this on here, booked on my phone and rocked up. What a gem! Food lush, good portions staff lovely and nice surroundings. Will definately be using this place whenever around Bristol way!!

We had a lovely lunch with friends here today. Table service very good and all staff that attended to us were excellent. Not the cheapest meal but good value. We enjoyed steak as well as other mains. We all enjoyed our puddings. Excellent red wine and we thought the gardens looked great for a good weather day.

Lunch with mum. A great bar but the owner seemed highly stressed out with the 15 customers at that time. But the bar man redeemed her behaviour. Really nice food but seriously overpriced. 28 a sirloin steak isn't affordable sadly. Maybe we will return at a more hectic time to see the place in full flow.

From the moment you walk in you are made to feel at ease , it’s ran well , very organised and friendly staff , incredible carvery roast ,home made vegetarian vegan options which were very good , we will be back again ,they really couldn’t do enough. Reserva una mesa ahora

Really disappointed with quality of food, veg overcooked. After reading reviews online thought the meal was going to be special wouldn't recommend. Also very cold inside venue had to put coats on.

Went there for a family meal and we all had a great experience both with food and service. Great and very friendly staff, amazing garden so we will definitely be back very soon
