I was disappointed in the pub yesterday evening. We arrived early and were shown to our table on arrival. However the serving team need some more training. They were quite young and not very attentive and seemed happy to stand together by their workstation rather than attend to our needs. We were asked for our drinks order which I declined as wanted to use my CAMRA card for the discount at the bar. I was advised at the bar that they werent giving the CAMRA discount even though there is a sign on the door saying they do. We went to the Saddlers Arms this evening (23 December . The staff were very friendly and attentive, quickly took our drinks order, followed by the menu. My partner and her brother both had the carvery. They said everything was tasty and a good choice or meats and vegetables. My appitite is not as it was so I asked about the fries with chicken curry (unfortunately, in modern parlance, named 'Dirty fries ' . I had read an earlier review, which was not favorable, but, I believe in making my own mind up everyone 's tastes are different. The service at this carvery has definitely improved, the food is excellent as always but when we visited in August the service was dreadful but we are so pleased to report that there has been a considerable improvement, with friendly and efficient staff and the best carvery for miles around, we found the whole experience very enjoyable and will now bring our extended family to the saddlers for a meal next month with confidence that all will be good hopefully)

We have eaten here before and the value and quality is always great. The staff are super helpful and friendly. As well as the restaurant there is a great relaxing area for drinks and board games.

We had the chicken curry, it was horrendous we didn't enjoy it was nice and frozen..we had to take it home and reheat it in the microwave. Is there any chefs that work here???
