The Schoolhouse Restaurant Bar And Garden

Poormenu is limited. The staff are all lovely but inexperienced. We have eaten at this establishment previously and had been very disappointed on that occasion. In our opinion things have not improved, we both chose the crab linguini, we expected it to be fresh tasting creamy and light, it was the total opposite, gloopy and dry with ‘crunch’ the chef seems to add pancetta to every meal! This gave the impression that we were crunching through crab shells! Not a nice experience. We felt the quality of the crab to be poor, so much so, my partner suffered gastrointestinal symptoms for the rest of the evening! We will not be eating here again.

We had a wonderful dinner last night! We were staying at the Holiday Inn just across the motorway and searched for a better dining option than the hotel restaurant. We feel incredibly fortunate to have chosen this place! Everything was fantastic—the food, the service, the wine, the decor, and the atmosphere. It was so good that we’ve decided we would even make the 100-mile round trip from home to come back! Thank you for a lovely evening!

What a wonderful place. We enjoyed a fabulous meal in great surroundings. The schoolhouse has really eclectic decor with some great artwork. The staff were attentive without being over the top. There was a good selection across the menu. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. We were impressed with the prices for the quality of the food. Highly recommend and will be back. We had a delightful dining experience at this vibrant little restaurant, which boasted friendly staff. We enjoyed dinner, and the meal was priced around £50-60 per person. The food was fantastic, earning a solid 5 out of 5. The service was equally impressive, also a 5 out of 5, and the atmosphere contributed to the overall enjoyment—I’d rate it a 5 as well. A group of 19 ladies visiting for bottomless brunch. Amazing food and plenty of it. Great atmosphere, very cosy. Definitely worth a visit good value for money . Highly recommend Wheelchair accessibility: One of the girls didn’t have any issues with her wheelchair Service: Dine in Meal type: Brunch

Food was great but leave room for dessert because it's the best part. Atmosphere needs work, it's like the new owners ran out of money and kept a lot of decorations from the place that used to be there. Not a lot of choices in Alfreton but this is a good one. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner
