First time visiting Scullery coffee house jn downtown Greenville, I have to say the approach they have is interesting. It is backwards in a way. You get to see menu choose your meal and drinks, pay and then get seated. So we chose the food and drinks, we paid then we got seated. What I find odd is we have to pay first or tip before we get served food. I know it's a different and unique approach for them but asking for tip in the beginning is a little weird for, what if I don't like the service? Hypothetically speaking, do I ask for my tip back and If I don't like the service? We visited this spot for the first time and were a little taken back by the process of looking at the menu/ordering/and paying AND tipping first before being seated. I understand this is how coffee shops usually work but with it being a restaurant style breakfast place it felt a bit strange to tip based on service we haven 't had yet. Following that when ordering hash browns I wasn 't expecting actual chopped up cubes of potato. But I wasn 't mad after I tried them they were good. French toast was a good size and tasted fine, same for the pancakes. Vanilla latte was decent and my partner 's cold brew was also fine. Busy place. Great downtown location. 25 minute wait for table but that's plenty of time to peruse UBE and maybe pickup an ECU t-shirt or 2. Loved my hot salad with grilled chicken. Pirate breakfast looked delish, but my husband wasn't too keen on the local burger. He just wasn't feeling the spices (garlic, maybe? in the the patty. Hot chocolate was a work of art. We'll be back. Service was very friendly and we were treated to an impromptu and lovely rendition of The Christmas Song sung by one of the staff.
We went here for breakfast on a Monday morning and it was quite busy! The staff were very friendly and ordering went relatively quick. We had a Cloud 9 espresso drink which was delicious! My husband had a breakfast burrito which was awesome, but a little skimpy on the sausage. I had the healthy breakfast sandwich which was also great, but did not feel healthy due to the bread being doused in butter when it was griddled. I would get it again but with dry toast. Overall, we had a very good experience.
The Scullery is amazing! If you are a local or a first time visitor this is the spot for breakfast!! Perfect for family, friend, or co-worker get togethers. They have healthy options on the menu and will cater to your allergy needs as well. I come here all the time with friends or just to get a coffee. I have never had a bad experience. The staff is nice, the restaurant is clean, and every meal is cooked to perfection. Food is also quick to get to you. I 10/10 recommend.
Hmm ? So, you order at the counter, pay, are assigned a table, and then it becomes full service ?????. The staff was pleasant. The food came quickly, and was pretty good, but the coffees didn?t come until after we were finished eating ?. And, maybe because we hadn?t ordered those coffee drinks before and didn?t know HOW they should taste ? whatever ? not a fan. Overall, not sure it was a good return for the $30.
