Four of us seniors went to the ship for lunch and were very satisfied with our choice. We thought we'd check it out. The history of The Ship dates back to 1935 after starting miles from the current location where it was used for a scene in Robert Altman's Kansas City. My gumbo was pleasant to my taste buds and my friends enjoyed their red beans and rice and the shrimps po' boy. It was funny that a friend who shaved around the red beans and rice had actually ordered Gumbo while another who had ordered red beans and rice shaved about the food of the Gumbo. Enjoyed a beer here , just wanted a small plate of something. So ordered the half size Hummus plate. I was blown away. AWESOME ! Other places serve hummus that somewhat bland served with pita bread and a few olives. The Ship’s chef has THE number one on this. The hummus is homemade with distinct flavors, served with traditional browned pita slices plus pickled veggies, cucumbers, olives, and great presentation on the plate ! Simple dish but so wonderfully done. I will be back for this. I going there hungry next time, can’t wait to try all the other full plate items ! You NEED to check this out!

Atmosphere is wonderful, cozy, eclectic. There's a small band stand, it looked like, and the food is exceptional. The magnificent orange marmalade pie, I believe it is, oh dear. I shared it with a stranger, before I partook of it, of course (chocolate was sold out). The attention to the customer was soothing, she was a wonderful seasoned veteran of service and her suggestion of the pie was why I went with it. The chicken sandwich homemade-wow, the fries, the homemade ketchup!? If you take children there, they will devour the homemade ketchup fries.... EVERYTHING was......I'M GOING BACK!

The ship always has good food tasty drinks! Couldn’t tell u the name of the drinks except….they are tasty!Two diff experiences from sitting at the table the serve there vs the bar. Either way, your needs are provided!Haven’t ever been there late enough to hear a band so can’t comment on the entertainment. Cool ambience tho and any time I’m in the bottoms, I will at least stop for a cocktail!Plenty of room for social distance. Reserva una mesa ahora

I was so excited to see this place because, hello, it looks like you're on a ship! How could you say no? Well, it didn't make it, but 10 feet in the door when the Bouncer said it would cost $10 to come. If the popular jazz clubs in the city are just $5 at the door, and they have live music, there is no way I ever pay $10 to get into a place that blows music over a speaker.

The Ship is a bar that also serves food in a very old building in a warehouse district that looks ripe for gentrification. The servers were very friendly. I was told by locals that on certain nights they have live music with some impressive performers.

Coolest bar in Kansas City (maybe even all over America), hands down. A few stages with live music, fun drinks, hip vibe and atmosphere, with friendly staff and a variety of crowds. One of my go-toes and a real jewel.

Met a friend here for lunch in a random Tuesday and it was awesome!!! I didn't even know this place had a kitchen. The fried pickles are really good! I had the shrimp po boy, and it was amazing, The bread was awesome. Reserva una mesa ahora
