The food is good. We love the eggplant salad and the salad with Feta. I always order the ground beef and veal liver kebabs. Our server ordered the beef which has no flavor when we got it we sent it back. She insisted that we ordered the beef, and we can buy the ground beef. The owner must have told her to take it back. She took my husband's and after a while brought back 1 ground beef skewer. We asked why not both? She thought that my husband will eat my beef. She really needs to be trained for better customer service. The owner was kind, appologized and even treated us to a dessert. They did not charge us for the beef. Hopefully next time we won't have any server issues.
Surprisingly good! We had the Tashkent salad which is kind of like a Mediterraneon salad but with feta grated on top making it creamy and oh-so-good. Pumpkin manti (larger dumplings) were also delightful, and all the yogurt offered to top off most of the meal is a new and awesome introduction to Uzbecki cuisine. Kebabs are probably the main draw here, and it's always a relief when nothing is overdone. Moist morsels of chicken, lamb and sirloin. Get the honey cake (skip the tea). BYOB/W. I didn't see any bellydancers sadly. And the place was kind of quiet when we arrived, but in terms of gastronomic adventure, this might be a good place to bring out a date.
Food is excellent and the restaurant provides a wonderful selection of Central Asian Uzbek cuisine. Our only disappointment was that there was supposed to be belly dancing that night, but it was moved to another night instead. There was no notification of this on the restaurant 's website. However that did not dampen the evening, and the food which is the main reason we went was superb. We would recommend the cuisine at Silk Road Bistro to anyone, especially the plov which is the 'national dish ' of Uzbekistan and the kabobs.
Very good food. Service was fairly good depending on which of the staff was waiting on us. (The actual waiter was better than the guy who seemed to be the host/owner/manager. He was nice but a bit scattered. Room felt a little warehouse y (and I don’t mean in the way of hipster industrial aesthetic , but had a neat hand painted map of the Silk Road. All was made better by the quite good food at VERY reasonable (verging on cheap prices. I would definitely recommend for families, friends, and casual dining.

This was a total surprise. The ambience looks bare at first with a lot of open space and cold-looking, but it's set up that way for the fabulous belly dancing on Thusday nights. The borscht and plov were delicious. Have to go again to share meals and try everything!
The food and service were truly outstanding. I would positively go back often if I lived closer to it. I was in town from out of state. I would suggest adding some acoustic panels so the conversations wouldn't travel so much.
The restaurant is an unassuming gem in downtown Pikesville. There are a variety of authentic dishes, all of which were very good. The prices are very modest for the quality.
Love the eggplant salad, Tashkent, potatoes and mushrooms and veal liver. Never disappoints

We've been to Silk Road several times and we really enjoy the food and ambiance.
