Born in France and having been previously trained for in the hospitality trade in France, then England, Scotland from restaurants to Inns and Hotels, as well as private high demanding personal service for key people in the USA, all for a total of eleven packed years; also mentoring and uplifting aon a high degree people and organisations altruistically for fifteen years, has taught me balance within facts, in decision making when making true statements. After enduring a frustrating experience at another coffee shop in Ottery where the staff were too busy chatting to serve us, we stumbled upon The Silver Otter. We were relieved to find friendly staff, excellent coffee, and delicious homemade cakes. We now make it a point to stop by whenever we're in Ottery. Not only does the cafe offer great food and beverages, but it also supports individuals with learning disabilities, giving them the opportunity to gain confidence in the workplace. This makes supporting The Silver Otter even more rewarding.

This cafe in Ottery St Mary is fantastic. They serve delicious coffee, meals, and their Australian Crunch is absolutely amazing. What's even better is their dedication to supporting individuals with additional needs. The staff are very friendly and always have a smile on their face.

We had brunch here and could not fault the staff who were very attentive. I understand this cafe participates in a scheme to train young adults and was glad to have supported that as opposed to paying a national chain cafe. Reserva una mesa ahora

Excellent prices and great food. Really helpful, filled my flask with coffee and water bottle re-filled too. Lovely staff . Dogs allowed in too. I would thoroughly recommend you visit if in Ottery St Mary.

The Silver Otter Cafe is incredibly welcoming, with friendly staff and a clean atmosphere. I even know one of the employees personally, and she is just as friendly and welcoming as the rest of the staff.

Lovely spot. Great food. Would recommend the Full Monty all day breakfast bap. Super service and dog friendly. And a good cause at its heart. What’s not to like. Will be visiting again before too long.

Staff are very welcoming and polite. Food is a very reasonable price and the cakes are delicious! Highly recommend.
