My husband and I went for dinner one night and we had heard good and bad reviews but decided to try for ourselves. When we walked in we waited about 5 minutes for someone to come seat us(the restaurant was not busy). When got to our table it was plastic chairs and skimpy wood table. When we looked at the menu we found the prices for the food to be expensive, but thought meat was expensive. My husband had the pulled pork, and I had the ribs. There were 6 small ribs a little coleslaw and fries. My husband got his plate and the was a small pile of pulled pork some salad and fries. We had heard mixed reviews about the Smokery but we decided to see for ourselves . We were not disappointed . From the moment we entered we were treated with great service ... the owner was welcoming and friendly and offered great back story on the concept of the restaurant and its evolution . We tried a few appetizers between two couples , the cauliflower - YUM , and two different fresh salads . Bury delicious and light . Mains were brisket , rubs and honey chicken . All were really delicious and steaming hot when brought to the table . Dessert and great coffee finished the evening off wonderfully . Got a few dishes to go for the kids at home who loved them as well . Highly recommend .
Surprise to find this interesting, quaint and cozy Southern US food focused eatery at such an off-the-beaten-track location. For mains, we had Honey Fried Chicken and Coffee Rub Smoked Brisket. Both of which were nicely seasoned and un-expectedly delicious. The tasty and value-for-money Banana Chocolate Lava Cake was a fine delicious touch to an enjoyable meal.Unfortunately a couple of downside. One was the friendly but un-attentively slow service. The other was the running out of the ' Smoked spicy white fish cake ' appetizer....a strange scenario considering this is the start of a supposedly busy weekend?!
Loved the philosophy behind this place, and the food was great. So surprised, and PLEASED that there is a clientele in Stouffville looking for sustainable and locally sourced foods. The antithesis of chain restaurants. Just what we look for. We had the wings, quite good, the beet salad, very enjoyable, the pork belly and duck confit, and the Lingcod. Finished the meal with fresh ground coffee and the bourbon caramel cake to share.... So full but so happy! Try it!!!! And no, we are NOT related!

This out of the way gem in Stouffville is AMAZING! Service is outstanding. Food is so tasty. The Beef Brisket is highly recommended. So tasty and tender. I didn't even know it could that melt-in-your-mouth! It's a very quaint restaurant with tasteful decor and supportive of local microbreweries. A great place for a date or business gathering. It also has space for larger groups in adjoining room.
The Smokery is very easy to miss when driving on Main St Stouffville but if you do miss it you are missing out on a great culinary experience. I sampled the Fried Cauliflower appetizer, Chicken Wings, Ribs and the Roast Pork and all were delicious. Can't wait to get back there and try more off of the menu. I have heard the the Scotch Tastings are very good so watch for one of them and sign up.
We decided to try this place again as its handy to home and I love smoked meat. I tried the smoked half rack of ribs and my wife had the Gnocchi. Service was very good and the ribs were delicious. They have their own home made pickles-half dill, half sweet and very tasty. The gnocchi was ho hum but I would come back again to try their Brisket
I first went to this establishment when it first opened. In all honesty, I wasn't impressed. However, tonight my wife and I decided to give it another chance. We ordered take out and all I can say is "wow'!". The food was fantastic. I'm not sure what changes they've made but keep it up. A+++ all the way.

Would NOT recommend the Lingcod meal. Quite tasteless.I think waitress was fairly new on the job and hadn't quite mastered the art of ensuring everything OK. With time, should improve!Some others in our group seemed to enjoy their meal i.e. ribs, burger, wings.Liquor selection was fine for our needs.
I love it here. The Mac and Cheese is fantastic! the staff are super nice and I have never been disappointed with the food here.
