The Southcote Beefeater

Our party of have just had a meal at the Beefeater at Southcote and it was very disappointing and not of its usually high standard. Firstly our drinks took a very long time to arrive, The Gin and tonic was so watered down that it took attempts to get one that at least had some taste. I ordered a jacket potatoe with my main corse and then about minutes later Zia was informed that they had none and I reluctantly had to settle for chips. The steaks were not the best and was not cooked as requested. I asked for medium but it was nearer to well done. This was truly a awful experience one which we will not be repeating,after a car journey we thought a meal would be good idea at this pub,we were very wrong.Management need to consider staff training on how to MEET,GREET,SMILE AND BE POLITE none of which we encountered,from the lady on the door who obviously did not want to be there to the very rude and down right nasty barman.we walked out so did others

Had a king wagyu burger and it honestly was the best crafted burger I’ve had, my son had the sticky bourbon ribs which was fantastic along with his nan who had double bacon& cheese steak beef burger, we was all impressed with the service and amazingly tasty food, will definitely be back soon

Booked a meal with wife and son to finish off holiday Quality of staff service and food was exceptional Thomas our waiter for the afternoon was exceptional Regards to chef the steak has to be the finest quality in reading this is the place to eat

Second meal this week at The Southcote Beafeater.Great service and fantastic meal. Group of Thursday then Sunday group of Fantastic time. Not rushed at all really good. Thank You.
