Figured I would give this place a try since it is walking distance from my work. However it was lunch and they had a very limited menu. It's a steak and oyster place but there was not even any steak available for lunch. Mind you it was a late lunch around 3pm. I understand why having a limited menu but the items could be a little more diverse and if you specialize in steak there should be at least one steak option. So I?ll start by saying it could be that they are dealing with the effects of Covid and being understaffed BUT we had a group of 12 and reservations. We were sat right away. Took a minute to get our drink order in. Then once we got the food order in we waited over 1.5hr! We had a mix up with oyster orders and the waiter was a little flippant over something that was not our fault. Went for brunch, left with hunger, disappointment and a drained checking account. The service wasn't bad but he came off very snobby and uninterested. (I mean you are a waiter, the least you can do is make your customers feel like they are your only table). The food was uneventful at best and the portions are small. I thought maybe good things come in small packages but the flavor and presentation wasn't there either. Didn't even bother having a drink as I was scared to be raped yet again. I guess what we gained in the short walk, we lost in every other way. Save your money and go to Bakersfield right down the street.

The restaurant lost my reservation but was able to quickly seat my party of five. I had "the belle" and while the flight was cooked perfectly and delicious. The potatoes and onion straws were cold. Very disappointed when you spend $38 on an entree. Service was friendly and attentive.
In Nashville for the week and I stopped in at the southern for some appetizers, oysters, and cocktails. Although this place came highly recommended it was really an average experience. We came too early for the dinner menu. My favorite was the barbecue shrimp.

Food, Service & Atmosphere is Great. The Highway & Southern Burger will get you through the day for sure.

Took well over 2 minutes for 6 hosts at the front door to greet us with no other guests in sight. Purposefully ignoring us standing there. Had a shot of bourbon that was $17. Really? Don't waste your time OR money.

I ordered The Belle 8 oz. filet medium rare and it was cooked perfectly. The food, service, and atmosphere were great I will definitely be dining there in the future. I would however recommend making a reservation.
Had dinner here about a month ago and the food was excellent and the service was wonderful. We will come back again on one of our next trips to Nashville.
