I have a massive soft spot for The Spaniards Inn. It is a part of Hampstead history, I grew up nearby, my father use to take us year over 40 years ago, I had my first date with my wife here and it used to be a regular spot after a work on the Heath. It was a lovely place, one could just stop by for a pint in summer and look at the bird cages in the back garden or stand by the fire inside in winter so it really saddens me to write this. It 's a wonderful old pub set on the beautiful Hampstead Heath with a large well-appointed garden for outdoor dining. The bar staff were excellent on the few occasions I 've been there recently but the 'welcome desk '(or whatever it 's called) needs redesigning and the customer interaction at this first point of contact is very awkward (and not customer facing). The single door to the welcome desk gets very cramped and it is a classic example of continuing to use a process that doesn 't work but 'let 's carry on doing it anyway '. Good looking pub BUT as soon as we arrived , even though it was quite empty, we were told there was a 45 minutes wait after ordering food because they had two large bookings! We had a table in the garden which was only about one third full. Ordered and then waited for over an hour. Food was very average cold chips with fish and chips , mushy peas also cold and just about inedible. Burger very average. Could not recommend this venue
We came here a couple of days ago and the inn has a very cozy atmosphere. The staff are very friendly and nice especially Gina who looked after our every need thank you. The food was delicious and nicely presented. Indeed we had a great evening and we will be back!!! Thank you all at Spaniards.

I came to The Spaniards Inn for the dinner with friends. The outdoor seating area was lovely. Good atmosphere and excellent service, our waitress Gina was super friendly and helpful with her lovely smile on her face all the time. Will definitely come back.
Best Sunday roast I've had in the UK. Certified Irish native approved Guinness. Excellent service (special shout-out to our waitress Gina for being extremely attentive), and wonderful atmosphere in a beautiful setting. Will be back!
Great experience, good food. We felt well looked after . Gia (Gina) our waitress was great, she was super smiley and helpful on a super busy , sunny day!
Disgusted to get a parking ticket for parking in their grounds. No obvious signs and nobody mentioning that we needed to register our car.
