Well, this one going to be a bit disappointing, unfortunately, particularly for a Nashville local. My family came here for my birthday a few nights ago and were promptly greeted by the valet, who was very personable and shared some of the building’s history with us and snapped a few photos. Took out of town visitors here for dinner. Wanted to give them an “authentic” Nashville dining experience. In short, the food was great and the service and hospitality even better. From start to finish the experience was great. The doorman was friendly and greeted us with a short background on the house history. My first time to Nashville and the Standard was described as a must visit. Since it was a Tuesday, I was able to get a reservation. So much history, amazing architecture and food! Have the pork chop; it’s heavenly. Did I mention the hospitality? Mrs. Smith, whose family once lived in the townhome turned restaurant, seats every guest. She’s so very charming and welcoming. Come early so you can have an expertly prepared cocktail in a speakeasy style space. What a treat!!!
Southern charm and hospitality! Located in a historic town home tucked away on 8th Ave in downtown Nashville. I had the sea bass with mashed potatoes and creamed corn — really good! The deconstructed apple pie for dessert was delicious! My only complaint was the smell of musty cigar smoke when you walked in the front door, I believe there is a cigar lounge on the upper floor. A historical building nestled just off Broadway in Nashville Tennessee. While somewhat dark inside, the atmosphere steals you away from the hustle and bustle outside. Cozy bar area for great drinks, wonderful and personable service, and incredible food. I've never had a bad meal at the Standard. Make a reservation! You won't be disappointed!
I have traveled all over the world and since last week. I must have told 30 people that this is the best meal I have ever had. Not only great food but the history of the place and Mrs Smith is an incredible experience. Worth every penny, don't go anywhere else if looking for a great meal
Every dish was very tasty and well prepared. Best meal I have had in restaurant in awhile. It is expensive but well worth it for special occasions.
Hands down the best restaurant I have ever been to. Everything about this place is on a whole other level. Absolutely terrific.
