After a hectic Christmas at home, it was a relief to treat my family to a Boxing Day lunch at The Star. With high expectations from previous visits, we were not disappointed at all! The staff were exceptional, greeting us with warm smiles and engaging conversation. The food was delicious and served promptly, with all dishes arriving simultaneously and without any long waits between courses. Despite being very busy, we never felt rushed to vacate our table for the next seating. From the moment we made our reservation to the moment we finished our meal, the entire experience at The Star was a delight. Kudos to the entire team for their outstanding service!
We have been frequent visitors to the Star since Ben Lindsey Cox have been running the operation almost 20 years now . Our lunch last Friday, selected from their Festive Menu was a 'Tour de Force. ' Many thanks to Ben the kitchen team. The restaurant bar were as busy as we 've ever seen, with commendable efficient service from Kay, Leigh, Sharon and all Front of House staff. By the way Ben your 'proper ' Christmas pudding was, as always, the Best! See you in the New Year. Barrie Julie
I had a reservation for 3pm but had to wait at the bar for 15 minutes before getting a drink. We were finally seated at 3:15pm only to be informed that they had run out of their popular menu items. On top of that, we were rushed to order our food because last orders were at 3:30, even though they had seated us late. I will not be coming back to this restaurant.
We came for Sunday lunch on New Year's Eve and it was our first visit, but I can guarantee it won't be our last. The food and service were top-notch, couldn't have been better. They didn't add a service charge to the bill, so we happily gave a 20% tip as it was well-deserved. Thank you to the entire team for a wonderful experience. Reserva una mesa ahora
Lovely little find whilst in the area. We were lucky enough to walk n and get seated but I'd advise booking in advance. Food was amazing, service was perfect, atmosphere was wonderful.
