We visited this restaurant on a Sunday evening during the Oscars, and we were pleasantly surprised to find no wait and only a few customers. It had been a while since our last visit. The prices for wine and beer were very reasonable; a bottle of Space Dust was just $5.75, and the Hogue Pinot Grigio was under $10. We both chose the specials: my husband enjoyed his Chicken Dijonnaise served with pasta and fresh vegetables, while I loved the BBQ salmon quesadilla special. Pre-pandemic and pre-remodel, we would occasionally dine at The Star Cafe if we liked their specials over The Black Cow next door. Today, we headed for Black Cow but decided on Star Cafe, our first time since they reopened. We were not disappointed. The friendly busboy, Juan, highly recommended we try their pastas. My wife had the angel hair with blackened chicken and I ordered the pasta special of the day, parpadelle with sausage. Both were excellent and more than satisfying. Add in the warm rolls they bake on site and we were in gastronomic heaven. Pedro was a very pleasant and attentive waiter and the atmosphere was relaxing. We will be back for more and more often.

STAR CAFE IS OPEN AGAIN My husband and I met some friends last night for dinner and everything was perfect! I had missed their cedar plank salmon, so I had to order that. It was so delicious. My husband ordered their pepperoni and sausage pizza without the sausage and he loved that. Our friend ordered the lasagna and he devoured every last bite. His wife loved her pasta with tequila chicken. She said it was better than any other place. Our server and his helper were constantly there to refill drinks or bring more rolls. It looks like they did some renovating so it's nice inside. There is ample parking in Montrose in the public lots behind the restaurant.

We've ordered many, many times from this nice little restaurant in Montrose, CA. Their rolls are fabulous and included with your order. Here's my ONLY complaint: Your chef is HEAVILY SALTING the food. Our meatball and spaghetti order about a month ago was tossed into the trash bc it was too salty. Same with another dish we ordered. Your food should speak for itself without unhealthy levels of salt being poured into your sauces and tossed on your chicken. Thanks for listening (I hope). Delicious homemade pizza. The classic pepperoni was really good. "Exotic "creamy mushroom soup is fantastic. The rolls here are divine, and don 't skip on the delicious butternut squash filled ravioli with curry cream sauce. This was so so good the flavors so simple and the hand made pasta was nice a hefty, really filling. They have been here in Montrose for years and would like to continue to support family owned businesses.

Wow this place is amazing, small business big flavor!! The food is amazing! Had the steak calzone and the seafood sauce fettuccine and wow. Plus our cups never went empty. I was a little slower so that's probably why but I would cone back in a heartbeat!! The service was terrific and came back to make sure what I ordered since I pointed at something different then what I said aloud!

I visited Star Cafe for lunch on Saturday, and it was bustling, just like Black Cow next door. Our server was excellent, and we even had the chance to meet the owner! I ordered the sausage and pepperoni pizza, which was delicious. I'm so glad we made it in because we found out they're closing for good on Monday! Thank you for the wonderful food and service!

It was my first time ordering from this restaurant. I ordered Blackened Cilantro-Shrimp Salad . It was not tasty at all. The ingredients, especially the tomatoes were tasting awful. I usually don 't like leaving bad reviews, but I had to this time because it is not acceptable to charge almost $20 for a salad which doesn 't have decent taste. Reserva una mesa ahora

This restaurant is adorable, and the service is outstanding. The lasagna was incredibly cheesy and tasted amazing. The bolognese sauce was fantastic, and the rolls were delightful as well. Don’t forget to admire their Christmas decorations!
