The Stave - Reserva de mesa

First, we had a reservation for 5, but when we got there, there were no tables and we were told we had a 15 minute wait. The person who appeared to be the manager was scrambling to get us a table. Second, once we were seated, it took forever to even see a waitress. Third, when we finally ordered, it took well over 40 minutes to get our food. The visible kitchen staff appeared to be very slow in getting food out to customers. Two of us at our table noticed that a couple of the cooks were kind of snickering at us, very rude. First off, I just want to say my husband and I always stop in when we are in town. We absolutely adore this place!! The food is incomparable to anything in the area or what we have back home. Secondly, the atmosphere and friendliness of the staff is so warming! Our last visit we sat at the bar, which we don’t usually do but didn’t know it would be so much fun and even though the bartender was super busy, he was still great and very informative about this place and the area. Him and my husband had great conversation, I think his name was Jake or Josh! But yet again, our visit to The Stave was wonderful to say the least! We will be back soon!!

They have the best shrimp and grits and peanut butter pie I ever put in my mouth! It looks like a bbq shack but the food is top notch. I think the prices are a bit high (shrimp and grits, hot honey chicken sandwich and fries, peanut butter pie and coke came to about $84.00 including tip). The taste and presentation of the food and the attentive service did not disappoint though. I bet this place is incredibly busy during beautiful weather. They have an elevated deck out back that looks like it could hold a small band for entertainment.

Went with friends last evening. The inside is very pretty with dim lighting, homey vibe, and a great bourbon selection. Unfortunately the food was subpar and they didn’t have the menu as advertised. The Stave is an exciting destination restaurant. Near several historic distilleries, it offers a variety of fancy meals with a Central Kentucky country twist. Bourbon list is huge (200ish). Cocktails are excellent, and service is great, with a very personable staff. Try the pulled pork and hoe cakes! Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner

While the interior gets a little crowded, the food and bourbon selections at the Stave are phenomenal! If there is a catfish option, I'd highly recommend trying it. I'd be interesting in returning during the summer months to experience the outdoor seating options. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner
